The plot
The R-rated film follows a struggling screenwriter (Colin Farrell) who inadvertently becomes entangled in the Los Angeles criminal underworld after his oddball friends (Christopher Walken and Sam Rockwell) kidnap a gangster's (Woody Harrelson) beloved Shih Tzu.
I fucking loved "In Bruges", so obviously this has been one of my most anticipated films of the year for some time now. The trailer JUST came out, so we're finally getting a real look at it. Looks like it could be another great film with ridiculous characters.
This is terrific.
Tom Waits and Christopher Walken? Awesome.
you had me at the title.
:gizz:

HOLY SHIT TOM WAITS ISN'T JUST LETTING THEM USE HIS LISCENSED MUSIC, HE'S AN ACTUAL CHARACTER!
omgomgomgomgomg
and sammy and christopher (not to mention colin)? this is like a giant clusterfuck of everything great in my life.

woody harlson..?
if they fuck this up my head is going to explode
Fuck yes Sam Rockwell
Tom Waits and Christopher Walken in the same movie?
I don't think the world is ready for this
Any time Tom Waits is in a movie I get interested.
I don't like how it's all flashy about being weird and super-funny-awkward-weird but that could be the trailer.
I'll see.
The trailers making it out to be a lot less dark then I bet it actually will be, like trailers often do for dark comedies. Don't expect the movie to have the same tone/mood. Watch In Bruges if you want to know what this one is probably gonna be like.
oh and btw, mickey rourke was originally gonna play woody's role, but got angry because the director didn't offer him enough money and left, telling the press that the director is a 'jerkoff' because of that and can 'go play with himself'. Rourke is quite the goofy bitch. Woody's cooler anyways.
oh god, In Bruges was fantastic.
and with a cast as solid as this?? I'm stoked.
currently this, looper, and django unchained are my three most anticipated upcoming films
I know In Bruges, I just don't like trailers showing all the stuff the movie is about in this "you have to see this" way, I like when they make you interested, "here is something, watch the movie if you want to understand".
I can already tell most of the movie after seeing this trailer :(
And I don't really know if I want to see "dognapping went wrong but through a series of wacky coincidences eveything kinda goes right" no matter how quirky, psychotic and out of the order or awkwardly funny the characters are.
Maybe I'm too negative.
Good team, 6 good actors and Colin Farrel's eyebrows, should be a very good film hopefully. Thanks for posting.
I fucking loved In Bruges. Trailer reminded me of Snatch or something
if kevin spacey was in this movie the world would implode.

that's probably the part i hated the most about the movie. the backwards assed marketing.
they made it out to be some kind of fast paced guy richie venture. and while it does contain large amounts of richidium it's a much darker and slower paced movie. but it's still just as funny.

true grit was even worse.
for anyone who didn't already know the story the commercials convinced them (and me) that the movie was going to be about some unapologetic chaotic neutral badass (jeff bridges), possibly with some of those "leon the professional" themes if the trailers featured the girl a lot.
the actual movie was more of a roving farce than a fierce journey. jeff is simply some goofy old drunk has been and the fucking movie revolves around the little girl basically. i don't know why it was rated R.
oh boy oh boy I can't wait
Here's the problem, movie lacks Ralph Fiennes

I hope it'll be as good as In Bruges
Christopher Walken and Woody Harrelson?
This is gonna rock.
haha Tom fucking Waits?
oh my god this cast, man
i hope tom really got into making his character "his", hopefully even wrote some.
I watched In Bruges yesterday, definitely looking forward to this
I was already laughing through most of that trailer, then it got to Walken's reaction to the shotgun and I just lost it. I have to see this.

SOLD to the movie with the Walken
I'm so hyped for this movie, such an awesome looking cast and I thought In Bruge was great. This is a must watch for me. Also Tom Waits.
The uncut trailer is out now. I'm not watching anymore from this, though. Just gonna spoil it for myself. BUT HEY if you want to, HERE IT IS:

You can call the number to hear a recording of his character, and here's the twitter account: https://twitter.com/PsychoCostello
I like how they say "shit" on one line, then "s#*t" on the very next line lol
Reading that mock up poster makes me think i'm going to end up feeling really bad for Haralson's character, even if he is supposed to be the antagonist.
i hope he tweaks the fuck out like he did in a scanner darkly.
he has the potential to royally freak the fuck out but i don't think i've ever seen him really do it.

also what the fuck happened with Mickey Rourke in this movie? That's some A-class bullshit right there. Too bad I don't care, but still.
Mickey Rourke was replaced due to "creative differences," I believe. It was probably 'cause Mickey was only able to act all tough guy when the character needed a humorous touch.
