Fired FBI director James Comey plans to testify publicly in the Senate as early as next week to confirm bombshell accusations that President Donald Trump pressured him to end his investigation into a top Trump aide's ties to Russia, a source close to the issue said Wednesday.
Final details are still being worked out and no official date for his testimony has been set. Comey is expected to appear before the Senate Intelligence Committee, which is investigating possible connections between the Trump campaign and Russia during last year's presidential election.
Comey has spoken privately with Special Counsel Robert Mueller III to work out the parameters for his testimony to ensure there are no legal entanglements as a result of his public account, a source said. Comey will likely sit down with Mueller, a longtime colleague at the Justice Department, for a formal interview only after his public testimony.
Since his notes are admissable as evidence in any of these investigations should they come to court, I'm curious to understand how that'll shake out since Mueller is giving him the go-ahead?
I'd expect they'd play it close to the chest rather than show their hand but I suppose Comey doesn't have to submit his notes for review and could just testify about them without handing them over?
If Mueller is ok with him talking about the conversations he had with Trump I wonder what Mueller actually has.
It's official. He's testifying June 8th!

Absolutely no work will be getting done, and my F5 key will be shattered.
Wow that's going to be a big day.
I wonder how many people are going to be watching CSPAN on that day.
Hundreds of thousands? Millions?

If Corbyn wins The Sun will explode.
Comey confirms that Trump was attempting to obstruct the investigation on June 8th, impeachment proceedings begin when? Obstruction of justice at this level is a felony and a high crime of office. If the allegations are true, that alone sets every legal precedent to impeach Trump.

That would be really serious, you might see as many as 2 or even 3 GOP Senators saying they are concerned about the reports
In light of today's events, I hope impeachment comes sooner than later.

Imagine the MASSIVE letdown if Comey says something like "Nah Trump's my bro. He is not working with the Russians" for any reason at all.
Man I would be completely pissed off.

Whether or not Trump is working with the Russians is obviously a major point of concern, but obstruction of justice via his multiple attempts to kill the investigation is enough on its own to have him impeached. In a sane world, at least.

Dude, this is big. Really big. John McCain might be a little bit disturbed by this.

No no, deeply concerned.
No no, deeply concerned.
He'll be quoted as "deeply concerned" at some dinner, then the next day he'll tell us he meant to say he was only a little disturbed.
Send trump down the chute to shit town!

Glad I'm working Thursday evening rather than morning. Definitely don't want to miss this.
Trump might live tweet during Comey's Hearing

he's done for. Considering the huge quality of his speeches and tweets so far, he'll probably indict himself a dozen times over during the hearing alone

Why is it that I can see him tweeting cute animal pictures in a desperate attempt to draw attention away?

:disappoint:
He's always gotta be the center of attention, doesn't he?:speechless:
I wonder if Comey has anything truly damning against Trump or his associates. I've gotten my hopes up and been disappointed too many times to choose to believe he does, until the hearing is done.
-snip, bad reading-
Has a date been finalised? Can't seem to find it in the article
Thursday, last I heard.

That's an opinion piece and the speech Trump is speaking at is two and a half hours after the beginning of Comey's testimony.
