• On the hunt for Ramune

Ramune is a Japanese soda that comes in both a really weird bottle and in really weird flavors.
Ramune is widely known for the distinctive design of its bottle, often called Codd-neck bottles after the inventor, Hiram Codd. They are made of glass and sealed with a marble; the codd head is held in place by the pressure of the carbonation in the drink. To open the bottle, a device to push the marble inward is provided. The marble is pushed inside the neck of the bottle where it rattles around while drinking. The drinks are often called "mabu soda" in Japanese, for "marble soda". People trying Ramune for the first time sometimes find it difficult to drink, as it takes practice to learn to stop the marble from blocking the flow. In the new version of the bottle (2006), little slots were added to the cap where the marble was originally held. This prevented the flow from obstruction if the marble falls back into the cap.

The original ramune flavor is lemon-lime. The word "ramune" is derived phonetically from the English "lemonade".[1] Both fizzy lemonade and the unique bottles were imported from the United Kingdom at the same time, becoming associated with each other. Including Original, there have been at least 35 flavors of ramune: Banana, Blueberry, Blue Hawaii, Bubble Gum, Cherry, Cola, Curry, Disco Dance, Grape, Green Apple, Kimchi, Kiwi, Lemonade, Lychee, Mango, Melon, Muscat, Octopus, Orange, Peach, Pineapple, Plum, Raspberry, Strawberry, Wasabi (available at Tokyu Hands), Watermelon, Green Tea, Chocolate, Vanilla, Root Beer, Candy, Bubble, Flaming, Sour, Sweet, Mystery & Yuzu.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ramune Im certainly no weaboo (hell, I dont even watch anime) but Ill be damned if this stuff isnt the best tasting soda in the world. Now, Im sure there are some people here who know about this stuff as well, and I have a question: I know that a lemonade flavor (NOT lemon-lime aka original) exists, but I literally cant find it ANYWHERE. Does anyone have any idea where I could find it, or of any US suppliers from which I can get it? I guess we can also call this the Ramune/japanese soda thread as well :v:
Ramune is definitely good, but it's far from the best soda in the world IMO. Where are you located that it's so hard to find ramune-flavor ramune?
I found this website before while looking for the watermelon flavored one. They dont appear to have lemonade though but they do have alot, and I guess they might get some lemonade at a different time. http://www.asianfoodgrocer.com/category/ramune-soda Im not sure how much use it will be though. It would have cost a fortune to get it to me so I gave up, but you might be able to use it.

Def gonna order some of the weird flavored stuff for shits and giggles one of these days.
When you say lemonade-flavored, you mean the original flavor right?
