However, the battery of the e-paper watch could last far longer with an estimated 60 days of use.
now this I like... not so much the battery life, but it's early days.
Looks too "cheap" for what it is. Probably just a render, though.
These are like the niche-iest of niche products. A $10 Casio will last 10 years on a single battery. And if you spend $40+ on one, it'll last 5-10 years but can be dunked into a vat of liquid nitrogen and run over by an 18 wheeler. I don't see the point of having more crap when you can just have a phone for all the things you'd use this for. And the phone isn't advertising itself on your wrist.
Isn't this what the pebble set out to do? Or am I mistaken

Finally a company that's not Pebble, that's smart enough to use epaper. Hopefully its more then a concept.
These are like the niche-iest of niche products. When its winter you don't have to take your watch out of your pocket and take your gloves off to check the time/weather/messages. You save a crap load of battery since you don't have to ever take your phone out and turn the screen on. My phone is always set to silent now since and all my notifications go to my watch so I can be in another room of the house and still get the message without disturbing anyone. If I get too far away from my phone my watch will notify me so I never forget my phone. Paying an extra $80 (pebble) on top of an already expensive smart phone is well worth it when you consider you wont have to replace your watch when you get a new phone.
Isn't this what the pebble set out to do? Or am I mistaken
The Pebble's supposed to be more like a compliment to a smart phone, showing messages, etc. This on the other hand from the sounds of it is just a plain old watch. A simple fashion accessory and nothing more.
lets just hope it requires more strength to bend
No need to judge it harshly just yet. It's only experimental and in early development. It might not even go to market.
Funny to see battery life problems in modern watches...Still can't beat an automatic.
Funny to see battery life problems in modern watches...Still can't beat an automatic.
Err you mean mechanical? A mechanical watch?

Runs about 8 years on a single battery, and I can check the time without having to dig my phone out of my pocket. As for weather, if I'm outside and on the move I can just....look up. I can check my messages when I'm not on the move, I don't see why you'd need to be constantly aware of all notifications/emails and connected 24/7.
This seams like the most pointless device ever, this is what people do instead helping staving children in Africa.
This seams like the most pointless device ever, this is what people do instead helping staving children in Africa.
Why don't you sell everything you own and donate it to African kids? You'd still be better off than them in the end, you greedy fuck.
My Moto 360 only lasts 2 days at a push, so that's quite welcome. It doesn't look very premium though...
My moto 360 lasts ~1.5 days with ambient screen on. Depends on if you're doing the "ok google" thing all day long.
