rip smospins
wow this is more forced and lame than lisa's jokes
I always liked Lisa...
I don't know about the rest of FP, but this current season actually has been relatively better than the last couple seasons. Granted, it's not better than when the simpsons was in its golden age.
There are critical but subtle differences between the 'old' Lisa and the 'new' one. Maybe it's just me though but I just felt that the old Lisa felt more real and honest. Yeah she was a know-it-all but she was still a kid. I don't just mean her appearence but she had childish fears, loves and passions as well. For example I really love "Lisa's Substitute" because it exposed her as a real kid with youthful wants and a yearn for a real inspirational person in her life, not just a 2d animated thing that spouted off facts, environmental issues and whatever. The episode and writing treated her honestly and third dimensionally, not just a person with extremely exaggerated traits. But then again, most of the Simpson characters generally devolved into hollow husks of themselves now. I'm not saying that the new Simpsons are the worst thing since cancer but to me, it just feels so hollow and shallow compared to the Simpsons of old. Lisa has episodes where it's devoted to the environment, youth trends and whatever. Homer has him trying to adapt his 'dumb' brain for something smart. Marge tries new things. Bart gets a girlfriend/a new friend/learns something important but is ignored the next episode. That's basically my opinion on the matter.
