What filters should I use to get the following voice effects:
a 1940's style radio broadcast
a recorded phone call
I can't for the life of me find any answers
The only useful things I could find on Audacity were a high pass filter and a compressor. Add fucklaods of both. Oh and shitty quality recording will help.
Solution:
1) Call yourself.
2) Play audio into phone A.
3) Record phone B.
Voila.

This. I created the effect with some distortion and EQ. You could actually do it with a compressor too, just turn up the input gain until the signal starts to clip/distort.

Wouldn't be gritty enough because he wants 1940's quality, which was quite terrible.
Fine, do it underwater.
