Hello everyone, you probably know me. A few of you know that I have Aspergers Syndrome, and still have a question or two. Here's a page on it, before you start asking: El Link Common Questions Q: Is it hard to interact with others? A: Not really, you just need to know who you're interacting with. Q: Can medications help control it? A: Yes, but they have annoying side-effects, such as lathargy and weight gain. Q: It says that Asperger Syndrome sufferers can be extremely interested in a single subject. What's yours? A: World War II and Dinosaurs. Totally related. Q: Is minecraft your favorite game? A: Fuck off So feel free to ask some questions! I'm an open book, and I'm happy to discuss the syndrome. I'm not that different from the rest of you.
hows the sex
Delicious, thank you.
My question is, is it a birth condition? as in you had it from birth?
I believe so. There are basic tests that can be done by age 7 or so to test for reading/comprehension disabilities.
Do you find Aspergers has had an impact on your day to day life?
Not at all! Of course, paying attention to subjects that I find boring is a pain, but you get used to it. [editline]5th July 2011[/editline]
Do you want a hug?
Yes

What job do you currently do?
When did you get diagnosed with it? I got diagnosed with it at 10 or 11...
in school, were/are you avoided because of your aspergers?
in school, were/are you avoided because of your aspergers?
Not really. My Math teacher does give me a "Here's the basics of the following curriculum" sheets more than the other students. However, I ask that I be treated the same. [editline]5th July 2011[/editline]
What job do you currently do?
I don't have one at the moment, being that I'm not old enough to work [legally, that is]. [editline]5th July 2011[/editline]
When did you get diagnosed with it? I got diagnosed with it at 10 or 11...
8 years old. That's when I got the pills. Fuckin' hate those things.
I'm curious, how many people here have it. I've got it, and I've got the typical traits (or so I'm told), but other than a lack of social life, I've got a girlfriend and a job. ITT confession
Are you self diagnosed.
can you count cards?
[editline]5th July 2011[/editline] 8 years old. That's when I got the pills. Fuckin' hate those things.
I never got pills when I got diagnosed... Maybe it's just an american thing?

ITT confession
The fact that your avatar is the same as the OP's really threw me off for a second then
I never got pills when I got diagnosed... Maybe it's just an american thing?
Naw, a couple of my friend's have it and don't require pills. My parents thought it would be the best.
I can also answer questions. I'm 16 years old with medically-diagnosed High-Functioning Aspergers Syndrome, as well as acute Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD). It can get pretty depressing at times. I don't take medication, but I have been offered sleeping tablets (which I've turned down on moral grounds, and will probably never take unless there is no other option)
can you count cards?
Yes...
Are you self diagnosed.
It's funny because I went to a therapist with a psych- prefix, after a week, my mother cornered me and got all teared up because she was giving me a speech about it and all the great people in the world who supposedly had it, and then I tried to calm her down
Are you self diagnosed.
A Psychiatrist diagnosed me along with a Pediatrician or two.
Yes...
then you should like go to Las Vegas and make a lot of money like that dude in that movie, except try not to get caught and kicked out.
Yes...
Awesome.
The fact that your avatar is the same as the OP's really threw me off for a second then
Gimme back my avatar!
8 years old. That's when I got the pills. Fuckin' hate those things.
I'd be interested to try stuff like that just to see how normal people see the world. I guess normal people notice other people's eye colors and all that jazz, and I've never even been able to remember my own. Same with fashion and all that
