Cunts It's like people who look at your 35mm cameras and open the back to see if there is any film in there - fucking die in a hole
"If your pictures aren't good enough, you aren't close enough" - Robert Capa , stepped on a landmine
Am I terrible for laughing? Anyway, everyone is blaming it on the photographer instead of the kids, idiots.

How can people lack so much common sense that they don't think about the consequences of abusing electronic equipment? I don't care what they do to him, just leave the devices alone.
This sentence makes me so happy
the D4 and D3 should be pretty water resistant, at least enough to survive a brief dip. Unfortunately we can't tell from the video anything about the impacts (other than one of his cameras was hanging loose and could easily have been knocked around a bit. It'd be pretty bad if the lens got cocked loose at all and let water get through the bracket, and the obvious question of whether the external lens got beat up by anything
He's right though in saying that the gear probably wasn't destroyed. Sure, perhaps the iPad and iPhone but not the camera
It takes literally one drop of water in the right place to fuck your camera up beyond all repair.
He's right though in saying that the gear probably wasn't destroyed. Sure, perhaps the iPad and iPhone but not the camera
cameras are amongst the most sensitive technology we have today, there's a reason that they craft CUSTOM lenses and focusing rings in millimeter differences. they're designed to be EXTREMELY precise -- throwing a camera into a fountain is like dropping your laptop from 20 feet up
He's right though in saying that the gear probably wasn't destroyed. Have you ever handled a camera like the D3 and D4? These cameras are made to handle situations far worse than this. That laptop drop analogy is misleading, at least for these cameras. As an owner of a 1Ds, I can assure you that they can survive more abuse than that. Now, remember that I said "probably" and not "for sure". And what the hell is "custom" lenses supposed to mean? Of course a lens is built with "custom" parts to fit specifications. Sorry if I sound bitter, but there was a lot of unnecessary flak going on.

But yeah, utter cunt move by those kids anyway
Would've been a great shot if he wasn't pushed into the water.

As a photographer myself, I feel bad for the dude.
It irks me that you say that it's garanteed. For non-believers, I suggest you read about this stress test http://petapixel.com/2013/05/23/the-nikon-d3s-can-survive-getting-wet-muddy-frozen-dropped-and-burned/ where a D3s was submerged AND frozen and still working when thawed. The video of the stress test can be seen here

And there is no way that camera functions as perfect as it used to after that.
okay real talk like in the heat of the moment i would have wanted to shoot everybody involved in the face and i feel terrible for the guy but i laughed :(

this is the dumbest fucking video i have ever seen why the fuck

The D3s is the successor to the D3, making it more expensive (since the D3 is older) but far from "3x price of the D4 and D3". They are all nikon's current and previous flag ship models. No of course, but that was at an extreme.
