My friend was recently caught going to school drunk. What can I expect to happen to him? - General

Yesterday, during my fourth period gym class, one of my friends came in completely wasted. I honestly thought he was faking it, but it turns out he was caught this morning with a bottle of Smirnoff in his backpack. I heard from some of my other friends that he was apparently suffering from depression, and thought that alcohol would act as some sort of anti-depressant. I'm mainly worried about what is going to happen to him from here. He hasn't done anything stupid while hammered, and I think the fact that he was depressed might earn him sympathy points, but I don't want to see him getting expelled. Has this happened to anyone else? What can I expect?

Well, if he is actually going through all this depression shit, just tell him to stop drinking. There are better alternatives for getting through depression. One of those alternatives is pot.

i got suspended but i didnt go back. i was 17 though. probably just get suspended.

He's going to get expelled at one point. At least that's what my school would do. You better start knocking some sense into him if you really do want to keep him on the right track. He's gonna have to talk to a counselor. They're not going to expel him, and he won't face any legal consequences.

I woulden't freak out that much, His parents will probably get in more trouble than him; When I was 15 everyone had some form of depression and most just wanted attention from it oddly a few badasses did come in drunk. They made sure to act enough to get caught tho', but relax; He's probably not really, really depressed but it's probaby better to give him attention so he'll stop doing shit like this.
