I think the reason for the mirrored thing is because it feels more natural and intuitive to play the game like that on the Wii. If you control your character movement with your left hand solely it's gonna be more comfy if the entirety of the game orientates to your right, camera locating preferably to the left of the character. Even more if we are talking about the Wii controls, A GC controller occupies your hands entirely on one point, and had a second joystick for camera controls, which are waay more accesible. The Wii ones are separated for each hand

The Wii ones are separated for each hand[/QUOTE] that is more or less the reason nintendo gave iirc. they thought people would be thrown off by having link be left handed when most players would be holding the wiimote with their right hand. same reason skywards sword link is right handed. your guess is as good as mine as to why BOTW link is right handed though

That's the justification they gave.
I'm left handed and played Twilight Sword with the wiimote in the left hand it was perfectly fine checkmate Nintendo
