This was the first wedding I've shot at, and of course I did the photos for free. c&c appreciated as always.
Last photo is really nice.
[editline]07:29PM[/editline]
The focus is really good.
Nice photos doode getting better keep it up good job #1 woo!
I only like the first one. Others lack the eye catch, they don't have a defined target really. And I think b&w effect is too dark
[QUOTE=johanz;22763592]they don't have a defined target really. [/QUOTE]
Huh? The subject is pretty blaringly obvious in all of them
[editline]12:36AM[/editline]
Not that I want to just throw your criticism out but what do you mean?
you should probably photoshop out that ugly gelatinous blob, It ruins the photos.
did it eat the camera?

Second one doesn't have any, am I supposed to look at flower or the pair? Or that patch of grass in the middle?
3rd, am I supposed to see the long dress or the distant pair?
4th doesn't seem to have a good angle. In face shots you might want to have both faces as visible as possible. Otherwise it makes your cousin useless.
And last ones are too dark imo.

2nd- The flowers are a foreground, and the top is to balance the foreground and the background. Your eye should have been drawn to the subject but taken in the whole scene.
3rd- I agree the framing is a bit off on this one, but obviously you are meant to see both, otherwise the dress would not have been pictured.
4- Honestly that's just because in the other ones he was making a goofy face
Last ones- Fair enough, I like them that way but I guess it's mostly a matter of personal taste on that level.
why didnt you invite me you fuCkE

You are thinking this through too much.
[editline]07:14AM[/editline]
Btw kasper how is the Canon 7d?
The first really jumps out at you, the rest, while good, arn't quite as good as the first. I agree with the point that the B&W may be too dark. Personally, I'd lighten up the shots when they're on the bench, it may be just me, but they seem a little dark.

Nah, he's kind of right. The monochrome photos are do feel a little underexposed. It can be a simple fix though, and all of the photos are still quite good overall.

It's great, though I do miss the shutter noise of the 40d

Oh yea, the other part he said - I totally agree with you on that. >:}
oh shit I just did my first wedding saturday :v:
...cheapo black and white effect for insta-fancy, boooo. Work on your contrast in b/w yo, things feel flat right now
I see a tendency to cut off the outest part of the objects you shoot.
Like in the second pic on the right side or the 3rd pic on the left or the 5th pic the arm of the dude.
I don't know if it's professional or whatever but my feeling says that you either do a portrait or a scene-shot.
This way it's neither and it looks half assed.
In the picture of the girls it's ok since it's so close up and in a format that emphasizes the faces, also faces and flowers match the rule of thirds so the photo looks really well done.
[editline]09:54AM[/editline]
Also the black+white pictures lack contrast, the white dress looks grey.
[editline]09:55AM[/editline]
And the bench pictures would have really gotten a profit from moving the bench a few feet to the left for more light.

Some of the cutoffs are because it's nearly impossible to get that whole veil or dress in a shot, and the one with the mans arm cut off is due to my shitty job at taking a picture while he was walking.
@ daijitsu, I just made em b/w because the church lighting was so terrible, but I could fuck with contrast a bit later.
Is that guy missing an eye?
