(Nine News)
A woman whose throat was slashed during a vicious robbery in Melbourne this morning managed to stagger home to get help. The family of Lovena Yendall said she walked four blocks to her address, while calling 000, following the attack near Brunswick station around 6.15am AEST. Father-in-law David Yendall said the 25-year-old, who lives with him and his wife Pauline, arrived on their doorstep with her hand over her neck and bleeding everywhere. "We just took (her) inside and got a towel and you know, try to stop the bleeding," he said. "I was in shock just seeing her like that." Mrs Yendall said her daughter-in-law had a “big gape” in her neck after the attack. "She was going to work and a guy comes up and grabbed her back and stabbed her under the neck." Police confirmed a man grabbed Ms Yendall from behind, covered her mouth and demanded her handbag. The victim handed over her bag, but her throat was slashed before the suspect ran off towards Sydney Road along the train line. "It's obviously a vicious attack, a random attack on a young woman who was just on her way to work, so it's quite concerning to the public," Detective Kylie Snart, from Moreland criminal investigation unit, told reporters. Ms Yendall was treated for the wound and transported to Royal Melbourne Hospital in a stable condition, a Victoria Ambulance spokesman said. Police are searching for her assailant, who is described as 175cm tall and wearing dark clothing. A weapon has not yet been found. Police plan to investigate CCTV footage from a nearby supermarket and the train station to see whether the offender was captured on film. A manhunt using sniffer dogs began soon after the attack. It is thought many people would have been near the train station when the attack occurred, which was only one block from the Sydney Road shopping strip. Police are appealing for witnesses to phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Source: http://news.ninemsn.com.au/national/8276784/young-woman-stabbed-in-neck-outside-train-station I was around bus stations for 4 hours. (Catching different buses) Good thing I am in Sydney.
Fucking disgusting. Only cowards do that shit.
what the hell is wrong with someone if they do something like this. i mean what reason is there to slash someones throat after she's given you her handbag...?
Lucky she's alive after getting her throat stabbed.
jesus christ. i need to stop reading these threads before i kill myself.
jesus christ. i need to stop reading these threads before i kill myself.
Let me help with with that rope, kind sir.
Fuck, my girlfriend lives five minutes away from there.
Holy god, thinking about having a gaping hole in my neck freaks me out. Kudos to her for being able to get home and call 000 and not go into shock.
What's wrong with this world
What's wrong with this world
Australian train stations. Although this didn't necessarily happen inside one, it was still close to one. I've had my experiences at them, sucks I catch a train to work every day and get off only one stop away from the most derro station on the line.
This is why you throw the wallet/handbag/phone/whatever on the ground a few feet in front of you. If the person is really that desperate to get your stuff they might just go straight for it and you'll have the chance to leg it.
What's wrong with this world
This is tame compared to some shit that goes on in the world. Still horrible though.
the robber deserves death whether that sounds terribly harsh or not, he attempted to kill or at least cause worrying injury to his victim for no reason

I just imagined that, if a teenager or something got cut in the throat, they would probably tweet or go on facebook "just got shanked lol gona die soon" before they got to a hospital.
I just imagined that, if a teenager or something got cut in the throat, they would probably tweet or go on facebook "just got shanked lol gona die soon" before they got to a hospital.
That happened once I think, a guy crashed his car and asked people on facebook to call him an ambulance.
the robber deserves death whether that sounds terribly harsh or not, he attempted to kill or at least cause worrying injury to his victim for no reason
Well the guy didn't actually murder her, death is pretty harsh. But the fucker is a coward, and he mut be freaking the fuck out knowing she's alive, and he's going to get a significantly harsher sentence if/when caught.
What's wrong with this world
Ke$ha.
Oh my god... That must be horrible still being alive with a cut up throat
they could just stab you first and then pick up your stuff
My uncle (or granddad, I forget) did that when he was younger (younger being like 30s or 40s). Threw his wallet on the ground...
You mean leg it straight into the back of their brain stem when they are bending down to get the wallet?
... then he did this. Proceeded to beat the absolute shit out of the mugger.
How many more people are going to have to get their neck slashed in prison if they put them there?
Does it matter? The jail system should prevent that from happening. Are you suggesting he should just be let free with no repercussions? I can't believe people are actually arguing about if people shouldn't even get jailtime anymore.

I'll have to agree with Australian train stations being the worst when it comes tp muggings and bashings, especially the ones close to me in Perth.
Your granddad or uncle is a badass. Try and figure out which one it is.
I'll ask mum when she gets home from work. Granddad was in the army (drafted for a year or two). Uncle played rugby for a long time. Could have been either one who did it.
I'm pressing my head against my neck right now.
Takes balls to actually do that. Aren't train stations some of the most populated areas of a city? That's just vile.
