He's now facing seven years in prison. Barry claims he was joking—he signed the threat with the name of a friend's father—but he's facing terror charges that could leave him locked up until his mid-twenties. With any luck he'll be out just in time to get in line for the iSlate Nano.
Source: GIZMODO 7 years holy shit.
He should've done it.
This sums up the maturity of every Apple-basher in the Apple forum :v: Anyway, I guess you could say... the kid will go to iJail! [sp]Rate me dumb if you'd do this![/sp]
Terror charges? This is like the red scare all over again but, instead of communist its terriost.
hehe stupid kid
Of course he was joking Wow that does come in handy
Oh god. The new Mac commercials are going to be hell. "Hi, I'm a Mac" "And I'm a PC"
The kid is retarded.
stupid teen == terror threat
I think he should be punished, but not to the extent that he was actually planning on blowing it up. If they can find some actual evidence he was planning on doing it, sure sentence him for life for all I care. But until then, give him a weaker sentence.

He's a fucking idiot. We know it was a joke, everyone knows it's a joke, but he's still a fucking idiot for doing it. TEEHEE I AM GOING TO LEAVE A HUMOROUS NOTE ON A DEMO COMPUTER HERE MAYBE SOMEONE WILL READ IT AND SHOW THE INTERNETS AND I WILL BE FAMOOSE
I can almost see the reason the kid would do it. But alas I don't care what happens to him now.
Terror charges? This is like the red scare all over again but, instead of communist its terriost.
Didn't you get the memo?
Another reason why the law is flawed. Why can't people just use actual since, it's pretty obvious this was a joke..
Another reason why the law is flawed. While we're at it, why not leave a piece of luggage in the middle of an airport and say that it has a bomb in it?
Another customer reamed up the ass by Apple.
Freedom of spee...
But was it iC4? It's two times the cost, but half the substance.
You realize this isn't Freedom of Speech, in fact this is one of the few instances where it can be violated by law, right? You don't have a right to yell fire in a crowded theatre, and thus start a panic. To compare it to this, you don't have a right to proclaim you have a bomb and plan to use it in a crowded store.
What the fuck bill gates?
Terror charges? This is like the red scare all over again but, instead of communist its terriost.
You're comparing apples and oranges Communism was a political party, and if you associated yourself with it, you were unfairly treated. Terrorism is... Murder... and if you associate yourself with it... you're a murderer...
No, terrorism is terrorism. It's just the only way modern terrorists know how to terrorize people is by killing them.
Do you understand the definition of the word "Terror"?
What the hell, have we time warped back to the 60's? Why is everyone so scared...
Well the good thing about this it will make people think before they speak (or write something). If you're going to be a dumb ass and write something like that and get caught you deserve the jail time. And you can't really claim ignorance on his part, anyone not living under a rock knows threats like that are serious in today's world. He is 17 after all, he is clearly old enough to know better.
"Take a terrorist joke seriously"

In any case, 7 years in prison? Terror charges? Fuck our justice system. Some guy is bored and feels like playing a joke and the world overreacts.
What the hell, have we time warped back to the 60's? Why is everyone so scared...
Yeah I mean why are people scared at someone posting a message in a public place about how they're going to walk in with C4 strapped to their chest and kill everyone :downs:
