Hey! Is there a software like google earth, that has high resolution images?
Google earth is the best thing you'll get. [editline]05:06PM[/editline] Damn, my quickest reply ever. Only after 10 sec or even less!
Nasa world wind maybe has some bit higher resolution images, but google earth is as hi-res as it can get.
You sure? It doesn't need to be free
Google Earth Pro? No, but you should use Google Earth. It can't get better than google earth.
The only higher resolution images would probably be held by military forces. And why do you really need anything better than Google earth?
Buy your own satellite if you want better pictures.
Yeah, I was thinking about Pro. Does it have much better resolutions?
Yeah, I was thinking about Pro. Does it have much better resolutions?
Nope, just more other features, such as for presentations and so on.
Why do you need higher resolutions anyway? Google Earth is pretty good as it is.
Windows live maps has way superior picture quality in some areas because they use overhead camera planes
Google Earth has pretty good definition.
Why do you need higher resolutions anyway? Google Earth is pretty good as it is.
I'm planning on using it for visual effects. Thanks for fast replies though :)
Windows live maps has way superior picture quality in some areas because they use overhead camera planes
Holy crap, that's actually true. I guess I was wrong. The image over my house is like 50% more clear than the google.
Use Bing maps and go to bird's eye view, that's very high res. That's what I usually do. [editline]12:17PM[/editline]
Windows Live Maps' bird's eye view mode is pretty bitchin
Windows Live Maps' bird's eye view mode is pretty bitchin
how do you get windows live maps?
how do you get windows live maps?
By using google.
I love Google Earth, man. It has Google Sky and Street View and pretty high res images. And they do use planes for alot of the imagery, especially in cities.

In Google Earth, you can change the time period the images were taken in most areas. You can go as far back as the 1940s. So far, San Francisco is the only place I've found to be able to go as far back as the 1940s.
Windows live maps has way superior picture quality in some areas because they use overhead camera planes
So does google: http://maps.google.com/maps?rlz=1C1GGLS_enUS291US303&sourceid=chrome&q=33.749892,%20-118.226795&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wl See the stitching artifacts caused by the sun reflecting off the water? Also: http://www.google.com/librariancenter/articles/0604_01.html
Most people are surprised to learn that we have more than one source for our imagery. We collect it via airplane and satellite, but also just about any way you can imagine getting a camera above the Earth's surface: hot air balloons, model airplanes – even kites.

Windows live maps has way superior picture quality in some areas because they use overhead camera planes
Google Earth does that too. The satelites can only zoom-in so far, the picture then merges with closer aircraft-taken photographs. Oh well, guy above was on-the-ball.
He wants to see women sunbathe probably.... Thats what I looked for when I first discovered Google Earth
He wants to see women sunbathe probably.... Thats what I looked for when I first discovered Google Earth
The first thing I looked for when I discovered Google Earth was my house.
