Why Facepunch sucks:

I've been here since late 2005, when I first bought Half-Life 2, and found out about Garry's Mod 8.2b (or whatever it was). I can without a doubt this board was once an awesome place to visit and chat, but now it's merely a shell of its former self. Let me list the reasons:

1) [B]Immature posters.[/B] I find it very suprising that I can have a more reasonable discussion or ask a mature question on /r9k/ and get a better, serious answer than on FP. This is amazing to me, because FP has always had a reputation for being the sticklers of the forum scene: the mods that would ban you if you so much as misspelled a word. You would think that a certain sense of maturity would stem from this punishment and/or strictness, but it's the complete opposite. In every fucking thread there are countless morons that just say the stupidest, stupidest shit you can think of, and they get away with it; they even get praised for it. This brings me to my next point.

2) [B]Everyone is out to argue. [/B]I guess being an asshole makes you edgy and cool on Facepunch. Let's say someone makes a thread. They spend a lot of time working on it, and then ask some other people to contribute if they wish, in message-board manner. Most likely the first few posts are going to be "Because I care..." or some dick remark about how the OP is a fag. I thought FP was above that, but no, you guys thrive on it. Oh so funny, giggle, giggle.

3) [B]Making threads about pointless shit NO ONE cares about, at all.[/B] Self-explanatory, waste of space and time, ties into the immaturity aspect.

4) [B]Most mods and goldies have a sense of self-entitlement; think they are above other users.[/B] I see this constantly, and it doesn't help that half the people always suck up to them or agree with them with no basis whatsoever. You are not a special snowflake. Get over yourself.

5) [B]Most ratings[/B] [B]serve no purpose other than to attention-whore. [/B]I can see the use of artistic, useful, informative ratings, yeah, but dumb and funny? What the fuck are you thinking? That's giving people and excuse to post stupid shit, or edit their posts, because "they don't want to get bad ratings." Ohhh, boo hoo, I have some dumb boxes. Bad spelling, reading? Half of this stuff is abused, and it doesn't get the point across, obviously, because I keep seeing the same shit over and over and it doesn't stop.

This doesn't apply to every user obviously, but it's hard to ignore when it's in every thread on here. Fuck this board, it is shit.
