Insane. Also, watch the Qames Done Quick 2015 showcase of Tetris the Grandmaster to get a better idea of what's going on: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ViwDUiCzPVU
A reminder that even having a go at this rank requires this level of play (just above MasterM) 4 out of the most recent 6 runs of Master Mode against your profile, then it will randomly offer you the Promotional Exam, then you have to clear Master Mode at the GM level of play (which is basically MasterM with an extra tetris in the invisible section iirc). It's just fucking nuts.
How can someone play this fast holy fuck
The end where everything went invisible, what the fuck. And then it went to lose and then the win dropped from the top. The devs of this game are evil.
Pardon the stereotype but that was totally an asian level of bullshit hard.
Pardon the stereotype but that was totally an asian level of bullshit hard.
Considering he's the first person outside of Japan to do this, I'd say that's pretty accurate
the people who made this game must have some kind of vendetta against humanity
the people who made this game must have some kind of vendetta against humanity
Considering Tetris is orignally russian...
Pardon the stereotype but that was totally an asian level of bullshit hard.
I like to think of high-level Beatmania IIDX play as the benchmark of asian level bullshit hard, but TGM is on pretty much another level entirely (although looking at score sheets there's about 35 people outside japan with this song cleared, there are harder charts though like the LEGGENDARIA stuff)
That was unbelievable. I loved his AGDQ run, so glad he finally got it.
Considering Tetris is orignally russian...
And it was made in the soviet union.
That invis stage. All of my how.
That invis stage. All of my how.
Just, like, I suppose you need to have it down on instinct but even then holy fucking crap.
So I read up on this, just to get an idea of what exactly this entails. From my understanding, and someone please correct me if I am wrong, but the way it works is this: 1.) Every piece dropped increases the "Level" by 1 2.) Solving lines also increases the "Level." One-line gives 1 Level, two-line is 2 Levels, three-line is 4 Levels, and four-line is 6 Levels 3.) Every 100 Levels requires a line to be solved to reach the next 100 levels 4.) The ranks count from 9 down to 1, then S1 up to S9, then m1 up to m9 5.) If you exceed 7 minutes before Level 500 in Master mode, it automatically ends 6.) On Master mode, the speed increases are variable, depending on how well you are doing. The better you are doing, the faster the speed increases. 7.) To unlock Grandmaster, of the past 7 games you played, 5 of them must have been finished on Master - this then yields a 50% chance of being given a "Promotional Test" to Grandmaster. You must then beat this game, and the secret "credit roll" level, to obtain Grandmaster. This is just what I've gathered from looking around. I'm sure I am missing something or interpreting something wrong. Regardless, this is absolutely crazy. :v:
That was intense. I don't think I ever could have said that about Tetris but that invis stage was just insane.
Holy fuck that was both bonkers and beautiful. And i love the basically instant tears as he finished it, that was so amazing to watch.
God that credits part is the cruelest shit
God that credits part is the cruelest shit
Makes me think, how the fuck do you even playtest a game like this? The bug hunters must either be nuts or in the process of becoming insane.
Makes me think, how the fuck do you even playtest a game like this? Debugging would be near impossible otherwise.

To me, the guy's just randomly mashing the button :v:
one of the six I guess
To further drive home just how badly this game wants to kick you in the balls, during the invisible credit roll part, the credits are intentionally randomized so you cannot tell how long you have to go until the end.
one of the six I guess
that's jin8, the first GM in TGM3 as well as the only guy to rank GM in both classic and world mode. [editline]30th January 2015[/editline] the 6 GM's in the world are: KAN, DIS, jin8, SKH, kashiwa0903 (KFC), and now kevinddr.
the people who made this game must have some kind of vendetta against humanity
The game is called "Tetris Grandmaster 3: Terror Instinct", That's all you need to know to realise you're in for some serious shit.
so I looked up LEGGENDARIA... To me, the guy's just randomly mashing the button :v:
Yeah, LEGGENDARIA has a tendency of doing that to onlookers. Even worse is that to even see the folder that has these charts, you have to clear all 3 of your normal stages, of which your Final has to be a 8 or above. This vine gives a good indication as to what playing these is actually like: http://vine.co/v/OZ6pYpYPuxP
God that credits part is the cruelest shit
What's even more cruel is that they randomise the name order so you can't tell how much longer you have left to finish.
