A man convicted of murdering his baby daughter in a "vicious attack" has been jailed for a minimum of 16 years. Craig Jamieson, 30, from Drumchapel in Glasgow, killed four-month-old Abbie at a flat in the city's Dumbarton Road in February 2008. Medical experts said her injuries were caused by her being hit off a hard surface like a wall or a worktop. Jamieson had blamed the child's mother, Nichola Haddock, from Belfast, but a jury convicted him by majority verdict. During a 19-day trial, the High Court in Glasgow heard that Jamieson shattered Abbie's skull and left her with horrific abdominal injuries after he attacked her on 8 February 2008.

Abbie died from massive blood loss and shock. It is believed she may have been swung by the ankles and smashed against something hard and then punched repeatedly in the stomach.

Sentencing Jamieson, judge Stewart told him: "The jury found you guilty of the brutal murder of a defenceless child. "The nature of her injuries signifies strongly that this was not some momentary loss of control. "This was compounded by the fact that far from showing any remorse you sought to lay blame on Abbie's mother, a woman who stood by you for a period of time." Wow, I'll add that in my new book: 1001 ways to murder a baby
Wow, that is messed up...
Looking into the babies eyes and thinking what happened makes me feel sad :(
I hope he gets raped in jail
As far as murderers go, I think it would be a fair punishment for them to suffer the exact same way their victims did. Personally I think he's being let off easy by letting him live.
Looks like he was caught after blaming his wife for the murder of his daughter.
Killing someone for killing? Sure, while we're at it we can fight fire with fire.
I'll have you know that firefighters commonly burn out borders around a forest fire to hinder it's progress, by starving it of fuel.

Let me just say that prisoners have a little code of honor that means bad things will happen if you molest or kill a child.
Killing someone for killing? Sure, while we're at it we can fight fire with fire.
Killing someone for murdering a defenseless baby, then blaming it on an innocent woman. :downs:
Killing someone for murdering a defenseless baby, then blaming it on an innocent woman. :downs:
Yes let's beat everyone to death that commits a violent crime. What a humane idea.
That baby looks surprised.
Probably just as suprised as when it hit the...oh, I feel bad :{
I've seen far worse stories (remember that Baby Peter thing?) but that picture of the babby just makes me feel so sad... So innocent looking - I can't imagine how horrible she must have felt when it all happened.
Well this sucks. :(
I can't stand people that abuse others that can't fight back. [editline]02:19AM[/editline]
babby
[editline]02:20AM[/editline] http://www.somethingawful.com/flash/shmorky/babby.swf

You could start a new country with that kind of population. Why the fuck should we feed them our food, provide them with shelter, and let them go outside to play an hour an day? They ENDED someone else's life! Fucking well end theirs too!

And Murderers are people too, they just have something wrong with them, this can be cured with the help of medical care, which gives even more people jobs. Do we kill a person with downs syndrome because they have something wrong with them? No we don't. We treat them and attempt to give them a normal life.
That bloke looks realy Hard on the surface
Yes let's beat everyone to death that commits a violent crime. What a humane idea.
Well it is, treat people how you want to be treated back.
I've never understood the reasoning behind humane treatment of murderers and rapists. I think when you decide to murder or rape someone, you've pretty much waived all your rights as a human being. As for the argument that killing murderers makes us just as bad, I don't see how. Killing an innocent person and killing a man guilty of triple homicide is not the same thing.

Actually I'm not seeing how any of the last half of my post even implied that.
And Murderers are people too, they just have something wrong with them, this can be cured with the help of medical care
And you live in a fantasy world. If a person is a psychopath, it is almost impossible to treat them. This man sounds very much like a psychopath.
I am baffled at how someone can do something like that to a baby or anyone for that matter. Rest in peace poor Abbie. :(
Scotland eh? It's all murderers and people who pervert the course of justice, innit? That's pretty fucked up, irregardless.
Wow, I'll add that in my new book: 1001 ways to murder a baby
I can tell already that you're a great person. :v:

Never compare the two again.
