A third American hostage held by ISIS has been identified as a 26-year-old American woman who was kidnapped a year ago while doing humanitarian relief work in Syria. The terror group is demanding $6.6 million and the release of U.S. prisoners for the life of the young woman, whom a representative for the family requested not be identified.
She is the third of at least four Americans who were known to be held by ISIS, the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. American journalist James Foley was executed by the group in a video that appeared online last week. Another writer, Steven Sotloff, was seen alive but under duress in the same footage.
In addition to the multi-million dollar ransom, the terror group has also demanded that the U.S. release Aafia Siddiqui, an MIT-trained neuroscientist who was convicted by the U.S. in 2010 of trying to kill U.S. officials two years before, according to a supporter of Siddiqui who has been in contact with the hostage’s family.

Why does all the bad shit happen to the people who embody selflessness.
I hate to say this, but she is pretty much dead if we don't send spec ops in to get her. We won't send money to them.
But, however.
6.6 Million in drone strikes coming your way.

They are the easiest and most meaningful targets.
But even the Spec ops have admitted ISIS is an advanced enemy and different from what they've seen elsewhere. The members of ISIS of veterans of other conflicts across the globe, and the one to look for Foley was useless.

Like general Dempsey said, deploying troops in Syria is the only way to squash out ISIS and keep bullshit like this from happening again. Drone strikes are just doing fuck all.

Because being that selfless normally calls for putting yourself in harm's way to help others out of harm's way.
If they execute her...
jesus idk
I'll literally be unable to express my rage and sadness with ISIS.

Boots on the ground sure has a good track record of defeating insurgency.

Boots on the ground in iraq and afghanistan because of the war on terror was a lost cause from the beginning. If we put boots on the ground in Syria now, we have a clear goal of destroying ISIS and then leaving.
I wonder if they will accept 6.6 million dollars in air dropped ordinance.
I feel so bad for this women, do you think her execution will get a fancy video too? [sp]This is a valid and honest question[/sp]
I cannot think of an enemy more disgustingly reprehensible and vile than these animals.
Legitimately livid right now.
you're right i mean look at osama bin laden and saddam theyre still on the loose!

I'd like to state that ISIS never was considered that dangerous or that big of a threat when the US had boots on the ground in Iraq. Sure they can pick on a government that's fighting a two front war now, kill innocent civilians, and make a spinless Iraqi Army look bad. But did anyone REALLY give a damn about ISIS when the US was there, not really considering they only became strong during the Syrian Civil War.

Actually yeah it does.
Why does all the bad shit happen to the people who embody selflessness.
because "nothing bad happens to humanitarian worker today" isn't a very newsworthy story :P

boots on the ground has worked out well for us in most other conventional wars.
isis is basically an organized military force. it's attempting to create a sovereign nation, rather than simply fighting existing governments.
After they pay 6.6 million, they'll mail a USB with "Lenny Kravitz - American Woman.mp3"
cash, credit, or lead?
I hope Obama sends some Delta Force over there to crack down on those ISIS fuckers.
I know they been killing lots of other people, but after seeing James Foley as their prisoner, it just makes me so fucking angry.
to be honest if they got their 6.6 million dollars they would still probably kill the woman. they might have the courtesy to mail the body parts one by one back to the family but i doubt it
That's not even the monetary value of a human life
pretty good deal
Why not just give them the money, and then when we have her, we just kill them and take the money back.
This 'terrorist group' is called the Islamic STATE. It has a signifigant portion of territory it controls. Guerilla warfare applys little I believe, fighting them like a conventional enemy would still work.

Almost certain that this will be almost nothing compared to a drug deal.

More than likely, having an American on the chopping block is a big thing for them though I honestly think she won't as ready for death as Foley
Hey ISIS!
Go fuck yourself! Are they trying to be the most hated terrorist group? That's the point? It's damn well working.
task force black, do your stuff.
please

The insurgency in Iraq was caused by our own mismanagement after the initial invasion. As a result, we diverted troops from Afghanistan to Iraq, but that only made the insurgency within Afghanistan worse. It has more to do with the command than anything.
We should figure out where ISIS's leadership has their families stashed, send Delta to pick them up, then start sending back pieces until they release her.
