Any ideas?
Read a recipe book.
[editline]30th May 2013[/editline] but in seriousness i've found these are good places for recipes http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/ http://www.food.com/ http://sortedfood.com/ and a lot of stuff comes up on the about.com subs, e.g. http://lowcarbdiets.about.com/od/soupsandsalads/r/rainbowsoup.htm http://thaifood.about.com/od/thaiseafoodrecipes/r/classicfishcakes.htm and there are countless, countless blogs out there with recipes, links to other cooking blogs and all that. just get looking!

Allrecipes is good for just searching a general food you like and having your pick of the recipe. For techniques I super recommend Binging with Babish, Jacques Pepin (both on youtube) and Serious Eats
