Last year, the 170th Infantry out of Baumholder disbanded. And the 172nd Separate Infantry Brigade at Grafenwöhr is in the process of doing the same. On March 18, the remaining tanks were loaded up at the 21st Theater Sustainment Command’s railhead in Kaiserslautern where they then made the journey to the shipping port in Bremerhaven, Germany. There they boarded a ship bound for South Carolina.
I wonder where they'll head to after they reach the US
Wasn't there a facepunch member who was a crewman in one of these was stationed in Germany? He did a AMA some time ago
Good Now that the america is gone we can do our next thing with NK
Bittersweet, it's good that we're finally pulling out of there, our presence seemed to have lost it's importance some time ago (practical presence, I'm sure our presence still has symbolic meaning). But I also know that many of those stationed there had become embedded in German society, and a lot of Germans had made good friends with the American troops stationed there. Hopefully they can all keep in touch.
Evilskydiver must be bored as shit.
Jesus christ that guy is strong. [t]http://imgkk.com/i/4be1.jpg[/t]
There's still armored vehicles there though. The 2nd Cav Regiment is still in Vilseck.

British Forces Germany is closing down before the decade is out as well. Let's hope the Germans don't decide to fire up the panzers again... lol jokes.
Now to retake East Prussia.
In before they invade poland
Good! Now its time to rise again.
In before they invade poland
more like greece
But what if Poland invades?
I miss the Leighton Barracks here in Würzburg.. my dad used to take me to the german-american folksfest lots of times, where I saw drunk americans fight with drunk germans good times.

Yeah sorta, but to end the war they called in the military police to beat them to shit and throw them out. Both groups.
Oh cool they're coming to where I live. I wonder how long they'll be here before moving on.
Oh cool they're coming to where I live. I wonder how long they'll be here before moving on.
Just long enough to scare you into not starting another war (I'm assuming you're german)
But what if Poland invades?
It's going to be like when the Polish rammed cavalry into panzers.
I wonder where they'll head to after they reach the US
Probably be stored in a bunker somewhere or sent to Iraq, Korea, or Afghanistan.
Probably be stored in a bunker somewhere or sent to Iraq, Korea, or Afghanistan.
We don't have tanks in Iraq, we already have tanks in SK, and we have no tanks in Afghanistan due to their unsuitability for that type of combat. They are most likely going to go to one of the main posts, and stuck in a motor pool yard with a cover over it for a long, long time.

The combat in Afganistan doesn't render tanks unusable, and we have them deployed there now. Not having them there would be the US shooting itself in the foot in-case the insurgency decides to dig out an old soviet bastard buried in a cave somewhere, not even mentioning the whole "IR desert warfare" thing, not the wide open fields, etc. Yeah, a good portion of the country might suck to use them in, but they're sure as hell still there. 16 of them at least.

There is no need for them there at all. The ones that the Marines brought out there in 08 are gone. Air power is simply the best support option available, and it trumps everything else. Also, an "old soviet bastard" would pose no threat to the ground guys, because there are always helicopters with hellfires flying around, not to mention the anti armor weapons that are carried around. It would not fit with the insurgent fighting style at all, and it would be a massive waste. So, there are no tanks in Afghanistan, due to them not being needed and the incredible amount of mountains in the country, not to mention that the current mission profile has no use for them.
Yeah, the economy has been takin it's toll on every country. US can't afford having units stationed across the globe these days.
more like greece
But the the world would help us if anything :v:
There they boarded a ship bound for South Carolina.
Is North Korea going to be renamed South Carolina then?
