On July 7th, he started the dream. He and another friend started a said marathon and at this moment he achieved 3200 miles and is coming towards home. He has a facebook page which is open for everyone, but it's wierd to see such a big achievement to have just around 100 followers. He even said he didn't do this for publicity but for himself so he doesn't care how many people follow him. But he doesn't have a problem to post this on facepunch. This is his facebook page: (Slovenian only, sorry) https://www.facebook.com/maynekolesar This is his website: http://intounknown.cloudapp.net/site/?page_id=138 For me he is one of the most inspirational people on earth. If you want, you can send him a nice message, he will definitely enjoy to see it. He will probably come home somewhere mid september and we, every single one of his close friends, will wait for him in front of his house with his parents aside and some nice barbecue. If you guys have any questions for him, I can collect them and let you know when he answers them. I hope this isn't againts the rules, but this is something nice to check out at least. Oh, and if you guys see him by any chance, say hi or let him stay a night at your place. He said it's quite wet and cold outside now. Here are some pictures from facebook:
I always forget that other countries use periods instead of commas. For other users: this is 5 thousand km, not 5.
Thats something I think I'd love to do in my lifetime. Since I do a lot of photography I'd just love to bike all of europe with my camera. Relaxing and healthy. Good luck to him!
that's awesome, and the fact that he's taking pictures on top of it just makes it better.
Oh right, he said as a joke that his true dream is to see this picture live in person: He said that there are signs next to the picture saying:"Please, don't laugh"
Going on a bicycle trip around Europe is also my dream. Doing it within three years
That's some solid commitment! Kudos to him.
What a rad achievement. Also this makes me proud (I am Slovenian!)
just over 3 miles? That's not that challenging? jk, that's a quite awesome thing to achieve.
He needs a sponsor I guess (free money :D)
I kinda wanna do that. I won't be saying that shortly after starting however
I've been wanting to get a road bike, but the way people drive in my area it is a death wish.
Some of friends have bicycled to Paris and such, but not this long. Impressive.
He needs a sponsor I guess (free money :D)
He does have 2, but they are not giving him money. He is running low on money since he only took around 700€ with him as far as I know. Hope he gets home in time.
Slightly unrelated, but if you use periods instead of commas what is your equivalent of our period? Was really confused when I thought he was only going 5km.

Was really confused when I thought he was only going 5km.
The comma? It makes sense to me. The comma is bigger than a period, thus more visible, thus making it easier to find the decimal point. It's only a bit of a bummer if you use software with coordinate systems. 123.456,78 123,456.78
I always forget that other countries use periods instead of commas. For other users: this is 5 thousand km, not 5.
oh that makes more sense because i ran 5km the other day so i was like "why would this idiot make a thread about that"
Not everyone is idiot on Facepunch / Facebook.
Our friend is coming home in about a WEEK. He's already in Italy. Just a little more my friend, just a little more to the finish line and the greatest achievement of your life. Those photos are really rad, love the scenery in Europe and I'm really excited to go to France and England next year
Ladies and gentleman, my friend has safely arrived home. He and his mate achieved a mindblowing 6000 km (3728.2 miles) over europe. His family and friends waited for him in front of his house with lots of food for all. He had the best 2 months of his life. He saw some incredible scenery he didn't know that existed before, beautiful and horrible(for example a 2 km yard of human poo on the ground). There were lots of tears, crying, laughing and hugging today. We had a great time. It's nice to see him back, he is also very happy to be home. He was sleeping in abandoned buildings or nature with wild animals near him. He said it was horrifying to sleep at night in the forest. So I can't imagine how happy he is to be in his own bed. This is an extraordinary achievement. [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/HXngjb3.jpg[/thumb]
This guy is a fucking winner. He will get far!
5000 kms, that's a lot of distance. I hardly travel more than 1000 kms in 6 months. e.e
That's amazing! I can only imagine how he must've felt upon accomplishing it. I'm glad he was able to pursue his dream so well, truly incredible.
So what is his next continent?

Congrats, hope you met funny people while on the ride too.
