Hello there. Recently, I went out to Gettysburg for a miniature Vacation. Now, while there, I woke up at very odd times considering the fact that before all that I would go to bed late and wake up around 1 PM. I would go to bed around 1-2:30 AM, but would always wake up around 6:30-7 AM. Hell on the last day I woke up at 6 am. I've been back for a few days, but I keep waking up at odd times. I went to bed at 4:44 AM only to wake up at 7 PM entirely by myself! And hell, a few minutes ago, I just woke up after trying to go back to sleep, seeing as how my eyes opened at 5:30 am. I hate waking up early. Nothing good ever comes out of it for me during summer. What in the Hell is wrong with me? Any way to break this annoying sleep cycle?
Go to sleep earlier
I think your problem is that you aren't tired
Impossible. I require 10+ hours on a regular day before I would wake up. I'm only getting maybe 5-6 hours now.
Happens to me all the time, and you know what's worse? When you wake up at a certain hour often, your body programs itself to wake up at that point because it feels like this is what you want. :/ Also, always keep your room dark, and have curtains too. When the eyes see light right after waking up, the brain thinks it's time for work and all need for sleep "vanishes" (fuck you, adrenaline). So keep your place dark, or else you can't go back to sleep, and that's shitty :/
whats worse is when you sleep so long you miss a whole day.. i mean a whole 24 hours plus... I have done this.

been up for 72 hours.. gotta crash sometime
I once woke up at 4 in the morning on the dot, so I turned on mail call, because R. Lee Ermey is awesome
When i'm on a trip, I often wake up a few moments before reaching the destination. :P it's quite convenient.
I have the exact same problem right now. I went to bed just after 2:00am, woke up on my own at almost 5:00am, and had to force myself back to sleep until 7:30am.
wow I go to sleep later than when you wake up
Been up for 79 hours once. This is what I was like:
Same here, got back from a 2 week holiday from florida on the 10th (I live in England) First night home slept 14 hours straight. Last night I got into bed at 12:30 and the last time I saw the clock before I went to bed it was 2:30, then I woke up at 6:30. Could not get back to sleep at all but I am perfectly awake. Silly body clock.
That's weird OP, I woke up 7:34 here, at Finland. Hmmm
I've been going to bed at 6am and waking up at 3pm :buddy: Trying to fix that. Not trying very hard apparently, because it's 5:45AM.
During weekends/holidays/vacation I usually go to bed at 2:00-3:00 am and wake up at 1:00 pm, but during school/work I go to bed at 10:00 pm and wake up at 6:00 am. I create a nice contrast there, and NEVER sleep well between sunday and monday.

I went to bed at 3:00 AM and woke up at 7:30 AM, all I needed was two cokes and really loud music
I'm having this problem too.
Usually if I woke up early I relax myself and attempt to induce a lucid dream by using a technique called C-WILD, I end up either falling asleep or if I'm lucky, successfully go into lucid state :v:
Impossible. I require 10+ hours on a regular day before I would wake up. I'm only getting maybe 5-6 hours now.
You only require 8 hours...
I've been having this problem lately too. I went to bed at 3am last night and woke up here at 7am. I mean I don't mind waking up early as it gives me more time to do stuff but I'm kind of afraid that it might be having a negative effect or something.. But I don't feel sick or anything, maybe just tired sometimes so.. maybe I'm just being paranoid.
Jet lag
Seems like you not alone, am having the same damn problem..maybe its worries? I think one of these nights your body will just say you're not getting enough sleep and crash into a longer sleep, had that the other night but slept for ages!! So it didn't really help. Probably can try and stay up until an appropriate time to fall asleep again to, or tire yourself out...at the gym or something. Hope it breaks!
Get a proper pattern, your problems will be solved.
I goto sleep at 2 am and wake at 10am. 8 hours sleep is good for me. I've never been awake longer than 40 hours :O
I slept until 7:45 pm.
I went to bed at 3:00 AM and woke up at 7:30 AM, all I needed was two cokes and really loud music
Two cokes? Jesus man, thats hardcore. Also, you've just gotta force your body to adhere to your timetable. Stay up all day/night and then go to bed at a reasonable time the next day, like nine or ten pm. You should then set your alarm for 10-12 hours later so you're not too buzzed and then you've got your sleep pattern back.
wow all of you people staying up for 75-79 hours... I just stayed up for 48 hours the day before yesterday and I was like
