Basically what it says. I chose slow tempos because I feel as if they are murkier, more dark etc. Hence why I dig doom metal and what not, but fast metal can also be really heavy it's all a matter of opinion.
Totally depends on the band, really. For instance, bands like Slayer need to play insanely fast and loud, whereas bands like Swallow the Sun, Katatonia, etc need to play at a slow, dark tempo.
Medium to slow, like early Swans and Godflesh(even though Swans aren't metal). All of the above.
All tempos can be heavy as all fuck. As an example, Domination ( ) by Pantera is as heavy and groovy as they come, through the entire song. It really depends more on the songwriting as a whole, and I personally find that the sound quality (production/live sound) has an impact for me.
Brutal Death Metal played very loud IS the heaviest metal, whether its slow or fast.
at a beat per minute
I prefer it when it goes dundundundundundun. All those blamblamblam bands are posers
This tempo.
at a beat per minute
This man is correct Sometimes they literally dont strum for 5 minutes
Slow.
Things like that are always so fucking cool. I love it.
depends on the band, but usually faster
It really depends on the song, but slower is more heavy sounding to me. Metallica's "The Thing That Should Not Be" and "Sad But True" are pretty good examples of this.
Depends on the song.
I really Love Tharsh Metal (Slayer) But I love speed Metal Also So Metal for Me it would be FAST or medium, Don't like slow as much as Fast, but I still like it.
all in one song usually fast with slower interludes
The slower they are, the more brutal they are. However, genres like thrash and such, I expect super quick tempos.
0 bpm.
Pantera and the likes is the heaviest for me, so I guess medium But if it's well executed, both fast and slow can be really fucking heavy as well
0 bpm.
Sunn O))).
Something you can really mosh to
Brutal Death Metal played very loud IS the heaviest metal, whether its slow or fast.
When compared to Cloudkicker BDM is like aerogel, whereas CK is like a ball of molten fucking lead. The answer is subjective to the artist.
