personally i dont think this goes far enough its not enough to just know whos who, we gotta help them integrate into our society. if only we had some kind of camp where we could send to help them concentrate on being better americans i think that would do a lot to curb extremism

It's not discriminatory at all to force one specific class of immigrant to register in a special database, no not at all. It's not as if the President-elect said he would deport everyone in America that fits into that same classification. There is nothing at all to worry about, this is fine.

I guess letting immigrants in and requiring them to be registered is a step up from not letting them in at all.

That's a good point too. What would be stopping the extremists from going to the UK or a European country first and then coming in to avoid the registry?

Constitution applies to US citizens, not immigrants or visitors.
If the immigrants attain citizenship then there is a legal
issue. The whole immigration system needs an overhaul regardless, my adviser has lived here 18 years and only just dtarted the process to become a US citizen. Presently she has no Constitutional rights.

I hope these kinds of bans will not apply for people like my dads translator that helped the USA for years in Afghanistan, who will most certainly be killed if caught, who my dad has been petitioning the government to grant asylum for years unsuccessfully. There are a lot of Afghans and Iraqis that were critical to the war effort that need asylum for themselves and their family. We're basically leaving them there to die which is a disgrace.

That is extremely dangerous. Surely non-nationals should have all rights but say the rights to vote and the right to live in the country? I assume your adviser had a visa. Did she not have constitutional rights despite the fact she was legally living in the country?

We gonna start classifying them as enemy aliens and start shoving them into horse stables and putting them on trains to the middle of the desert too? The us government has a very bad track record with unjustifiably sending large swathes of its population into camps due to populist fears. If this continues then mark my words, it will happen again.

Literally nothing at all. Throughout history people have lied about their religion to avoid prosecution. It happened with the Jew in Spain, it happened with the Christians in Japan. If it comes to it, it will most certainly happen to Muslims in the US.

That was acknowledged as a violation, and something like ~1.5 billion was paid in reparations to survivors and heirs. Doesn't make it right, but the government acknowledged its wrongdoing.

Wrong.
Certain parts apply only to citizens. Most parts apply to everyone. For example, even non-nationals have the right to a jury trial and the right to not have their property searched/seized without probable cause and the right to practice whatever religion they please.
