A giant billboard which links death with eating meat has been criticised by the National Obesity Forum (NOF). The advert shows a coffin-shaped pie and asks the question 'Not ready to meat your maker?'. It also recommends veganism in the fight against obesity. Campaign group Peta said it placed the advert in Gloucester because of a new mortuary in the city for obese bodies. Tam Fry, from the NOF, said the advert was "laughable" and an attempt to make a point out of others' misfortune. Peta said that Gloucester had the first mortuary in Britain to accommodate bodies weighing up to 50 st. This has been disputed by Gloucestershire County Council which says that its new mortuary - officially opened last week - is one of many in the country that can take bodies of this size. Mr Fry said it was "ridiculous" that Gloucester had been targeted because the city was one of the less obese areas in the country. "We want to do all we can to lessen obesity but I do not think it appropriate at all to draw attention to it in this manner," he added. Yvonne Taylor, from Peta, said the billboard was deigned to highlight a link between meat pies and pasties and obesity and other ailments. "The best thing that coffin dodgers can do for their health and to help animals is to go vegan," she said. Gloucestershire's new Coroner's Court, which includes mortuary and post-mortem examination facilities, was officially opened on 1 April.
"The best thing that coffin dodgers can do for their health and to help animals is to go vegan," she said.
No, the best thing they can do for their health is to control their diet, you dumb bitch.
I would like to announce that women who are more attractive are more likely to die sooner unless they have sex with me. Well, it makes as much sense.
No, the best thing they can do for their health is to control their diet, you dumb bitch.
Going vegan is controlling your diet
I would like to announce that women who are more attractive are more likely to die sooner unless they have sex with me. Well, it makes as much sense.
I like this logic.
I wonder why vegans think their food is healthier. I once choked on lentil bake and was saved by the quick swigging of a glass of milk.
Going vegan is controlling your diet
You can go "vegan" and still be a fatfuck.
But is living without meat pies really living at all?
This is like saying we shouldn't drink water because you can drown in water.
This is like saying we shouldn't drink water because you can drown in water.
Hey asshole, I've drowned in water several times. It's dangerous as fuck.
Sorry vegans, I for one enjoy my protein rich foods.
This is like saying we shouldn't drink water because you can drown in water.
Pfff, you still drink water? all natural vegan-glycerol based substitute.
Hey asshole, I've drowned in water several times. It's dangerous as fuck.
Well, you should stop drinking water with your nose then.
Photosynthesis is where its at
Well, you should stop drinking water with your nose then.
No one is going to stop my addiction with snorting water. Not you, not PETA, not anyone! I wish PETA would stop.
No, the best thing they can do for their health is to control their diet, you dumb bitch.
Loving the sexist language there. Also going vegan definitely counts as controlling you diet. This billboard is just assholeish though.

id rather die then live without meat its too delicious
I need meat for my workouts, it's an important source of protein. PETA needs to chill out.
I was vegan for a week once. Didn't get superpowers. Felt cheated. Then I ate a McDonalds Happy Meal, just to spite PETA.
Of course eating meat all day erry day is going to fuck you up, but so is eating only vegetables. Hello, lack of vitamines and protein.
So does shoving a finger down your throat after every meal. What is healthy is another matter.
Being vegan is perfectly healthy: it's the 21st century. [editline]10th April 2012[/editline] It's probably more healthy in fact. [editline]10th April 2012[/editline]
Of course eating meat all day erry day is going to fuck you up, but so is eating only vegetables. Hello, lack of vitamines and protein.
It's almost like you don't know about how much protein pulses and lentils contain. [editline]10th April 2012[/editline] And did you seriously say that vegetables don't contain vitamins?
Meat pie is worth dying for. I don't live to be healthy, I love to enjoy all the things life offers me like a slice of meat pie. Mmm
fighting obesity is about getting up from the couch and moving around not going vegan
fighting obesity is about getting up from the couch and moving around not going vegan
Of course, but diet is incredibly important: and you really have to fucking TRY if you want to get fat on a vegan diet.
I was vegan for a week once. Didn't get superpowers. Felt cheated. Then I ate a McDonalds Happy Meal, just to spite PETA.
You need to never eat meat since you were born, then go to the Vegan Academy, then you get 3 strikes. No wonder why it didn't work.
By meating my maker, are they implying if I want to have sex with my father/mother? Umm peta, no!
Now I have a craving for some meat pie.
Of course, but diet is incredibly important: and you really have to fucking TRY if you want to get fat on a vegan diet.
Going vegan is not the only way to prevent obesity.
Fact: Creatine is only contained in meat, not vegetables. Without creatine it is impossible to grow muscles. Yes, you could take supplements, but doesn't that defeat the purpose since they are extracting the creating from meat in the first place. [editline]10th April 2012[/editline] This guy is a vegetarian. That's Prince Fielder, 1st baseman in the MLB. I would say that he is overweight, I might even go as far and say he is obese.
