[QUOTE]Edward Snowden has been heralded as a hero and cursed as a traitor. His name is known across the world for his decision to leak classified information about secret NSA surveillance programs. In news interviews he has portrayed himself as a serious man who sacrificed his comfortable lifestyle for his principles.
But before all that, he was geeky high school dropout who loved playing the video game Tekken, was obsessed with Japanese culture and anime and joked about attracting 'nubile young girls' with his 'girlish figure.'
...For example, he listed his correct birthday - June 21, 1983 - and noted that it falls on the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year. But he also claimed to be 37 years old and to have fathered two preteen children.
'I really am a nice guy,' Snowden wrote on his profile page. 'You see, I act arrogant and cruel because I was not hugged enough as a child, and because the public education system turned it's (sic) wretched, spiked back on me.'
A 2002 profile he posted on the defunct anime site Ryuhana Press reveals a window into Snoden's personality as a computer savvy 18-year-old.
The Maryland teenager's parents had just divorced and he was working for friends, who set up Ryuhana Press as a way to sell Japanese anime and magna artwork.

That's... interesting, albeit not exactly the most terrifically ground-breaking news. He's a real-live person with a few weird bits to him. Yay.
Okay. But it doesn't change what he did.
So the NSA tries to slander his image with this?
If this is all they've got, then this guy it pretty straight edge.
why is this relevant at all to the situation
[QUOTE=UberMunchkin;41020336]Gotta hand it to the NSA, that's a massive burn :v:[/QUOTE]
Except the NSA have nothing to do with this article, just tabloids as usual. It's Daily Mail, most of this is guaranteed embellished
So what he did 11 years ago in his private life apparently matters and makes his actions defunct or something.
So he is a somewhat humorous and ordinary human being? Wow, thanks NSA!
"You invaded the privacy of millions of people, intruded in information that wasn't yours and poked your heads into spaces you weren't supposed to be in."
"Yeah but you dressed like a girl! LOL!"
childish shit flinging
Slim Shady 2.0
also lmao at the fact that theyre invading his privacy like this and making his point even more valid
Nothing wrong with bragging about a girlish figure, though "nubile young girls" sounds like a somewhat creepy choice of words :v:
[del]"We don't invade privacy. By the way, here is some personal shit we gathered on the guy who is saying we gather personal shit."[/del]
We really need Bad Reading for this subforum.
Hey mods can we change the misleading title please, NSA wasn't involved with this article it's just a joke but Facepunch has trouble with that sort of thing
Either everyone has weird stuff going on or people who like to leak things happen to like weird things. Nothing wrong with it though. I remember finding Assange's Okcupid profile and it was extremely creepy to read, lot's of strange comments. Kinda made me not surprised he was being accused of stuff.

But he played Tekken! :v:
So the NSA is trying to burn him, but ended up admitting that A) they can totally fuck up his privacy and B) they got their asses handed over to them by someone they're ridiculing

Or, wait, this has nothing to do with the NSA. This is just the daily Mail being the Daily Mail. Whatever.
-Dailymail
where unimportant unrelated articles about actual news gets written.
What?? People have strange fetishes and fantasies? I NEVER KNEW THIS O_o
The NSA has resorted to this?
Edit: Scratch that, Didn't see the link saying Daily Mail.
I really don't want to sound like a pretentious 12-year-old who's just discovered wikipedia, but this is a really crass ad hominem :v:
Is this supposed to change anything?
first photo he looks pretty hot
Wow what is this, middle school? This is an unbelievably pathetic attempt to make the good guy look bad. This just looks way worse on their part.
"This guy is a lying traitor, we don't snoop on our citizens unnecessarily"
"LOL look what we dug up on this guy"
...
wat?
Even I'm proud of my unmasculine body shape.
They treat it as if it's a bad thing.

[sub]To be honest I think the point of that section is tongue-in-cheek... I think it's meant to try and teach you to look past titles. Communities like Reddit can massively vote on articles based on titles alone, and that's a bad thing.[/sub]
Have to get it out there, he looks like BrutalMoose.
