Comedy Central has decided not to renew Futurama, which means that the 31st-century-set animated comedy will end its 140-episode run on Sept. 4. The final 13 episodes, which represent the second half of season 7, begin airing on June 19 at 10 p.m.

“I felt like we were already in the bonus round on these last couple of seasons, so I can’t say I was devastated by the news,” Cohen tells EW. “It was what I had expected two years earlier. At this point I keep a suitcase by my office door so I can be cancelled at a moment’s notice.”
Futurama is like my favorite television show, such a shame it's getting cancelled again. Why do we keep losing this show and not garbage like the simpsons?
Noooo. :(
Futurama is like the only animated show I watch regularly.
fuck the simpsons and family guy. Futurama is actually funny
I am kind of sad now I loved futurama.
That dog episode made me cry.

Good, it won't get run into the ground too much.
I've only watched a few of the new episodes, and I didn't really like them as much as the older ones.
but that's just my opinion
Please tell me it's coming back.
“As I said three times before, this is definitely the absolute end of the show. I don’t know why nobody believes me when I say that.”
He said it in a deadpan manner apparently, but Groening said that Futurama might return as an online series, not unlike Bravest Warriors
I think this is actually the end, originally it was brought back because of popularity in syndication and DVD sales, everybody had the DVDs. The show had a fine run and I hope they end it on a high note.
Ugh
like that's all I can fucking say at this point is just
ughhhh
(like, SERIOUSLY?!)
You can only make so many episodes of one show until it starts losing quality or people just get bored.
They might pick it up again in the future, anyway.
needs more executive powder
I wish The Simpsons could just crash and burn already, FOX has been putting it on life support for the past few years by using celebrity cameos and parodying lol so funi xd viral videos like the harlem shake.

I don't think one more season would hurt, but I somewhat agree.
It was a great show, just be glad it got the fame and popularity it did. It had a great life. The executives were kind enough to not sell the franchise off to Disney or someshit , so let's all be glad about that okay?
TBH futurama has been on for a long-ass time, it had a good run and it's better it happens now rather than it turning into the simpsons or family guy
To be honest, I enjoyed it as just the 4 original series. Not bothered about more.
Futurama was already going the way of the Simpsons when it started again. Forced jokes and too many pop culture references.
They should have kept it to the originals and not renewed it in the first place.
I actually quite like some of the newer episodes (like the one with Fry getting into the time machine with Farnsworth and Bender), but it is probably for the best. Let's hope we get another great episode or two out of the last portion of the season.
I really hope we at least get one last Futurama movie, or like an hour long episode to nicely wrap everything up, and let's hope they don't make the ending depressing (it's gonna be sad regardless because series finales are always sad but) but if they end it on a sad note i'll be pissed

FRY WAS NEVER REALLY IN THE FUTURE. That seems cliche, but worse things have been done to better series [sp](LOST)[/sp]
Those bastards.
Good. The renewed seasons couldn't hold a candle to the originals anyway.
why does futurama keep getting cancelled? it's one of the funniest cartoons there is and one of the few that is consistently great quality that hasn't suffered over the years. what is the fuckin deal why does this get axed a bunch of times iirc and horrible shit like family will go on forever

But I like the Simpsons and Family guy, especially the older seasons.
The series won the Emmy for Outstanding Animated Program twice, in 2002 and 2011. It has declined in the ratings, though, averaging 2.6 million viewers in 2010, 2.3 million in 2011, and 1.7 million in 2012.
Funniest =/= Good ratings
Networks care about profit.
