Oh and in my opinion this is 10x better than the normal anime.

I like the normal anime, it's notalgic to me but I'll be the first to admit that it's pretty damn shallow and crappy :v:
This is pretty awesome, it's something I've always wanted. But why does the show move so quickly and skip so much of the game? What are they going to do when they run out of episode material?
These subs are pretty awful. I'll wait for [url=http://evetaku.com/blog/2013/10/pokemon-origins-i-v0/]EveTaku[/url] to do the rest of the series; their first episode had the best subs so far.

I like how it actually starts off with Red being inexperienced and a complete newbie at everything who stumbles for a while but grows through experience rather than pandering to the Red worshipping crowd and making him some hard badass from the get-go.
I was showing the first episode to one of my friends and he was nerd raging at things like using Metapod against Brock. He was really mad that Red wasn't a total badass and that 'WOW, THEY MADE HIM DUMB LIKE ASH TO APPEAL TO THE KIDDIES I'M NOT EVEN A LITTLE SURPRISED'. I was laughing at him inside.

I'm guessing maybe it's to get some of the older guys who used to play the older pokemon games to get back into watching the show or something :v:

It's a mix of an anniversary celebration of the very first two games, Red and Blue/Green, and a means to hype people up for Pokemon X and Y's global release. The Origin's counted as a special in the tribute sense rather than a full-blown anime kind of thing.
I would love if they do stuff like this whenever a new gen is released.
you know as stupid as it might sound, the "world" of pokemon would probably be a really fun thing to explore in a videogame/as a series if the pokemon themselves weren't so poorly implemented
I'm not saying it would be amazing, but a fun world based on the idea of "what if there were magical crazy animals and people trained them" would be great.
the problem is that 99% of the time it's just normal world + magic animals in the background. And that's boring.
This just reminded me that we got our starters in exchange to complete the Pokedex from Professor Oak. We've all been playing the game like assholes and only catching the ones we like and probably never completing the Pokedex.

Well, in the games it was always more of an optional goal offered alongside the main one of becoming the region's Champion. You never had to fill the Pokedex, and it's.. Really more of a bragging rights thing. Besides, without certain circumstances, you really can't fill the entire Pokedex anyway without friends/money and, in the case of the first generation, a nasty, unintentional glitch for the very final one.
I love how it covers the game logic to make it make some sense. Like how Brock only uses 2 of his 6 pokemon for the first gym battle and how EXP is just the trainer's experience using that pokemon
