The latest instalment in Bruce Willis's Die Hard action franchise has received a largely frosty response from critics.
"Last is least," bemoaned the Hollywood Reporter, while The Scotsman called it a "limp parody" of the 1988 original.
"The sense of exhilaration and fun that marked the best of the series has gone unaccountably AWOL," opined Kenneth Turan in the Los Angeles Times.
A Good Day to Die Hard, the plot of which sees Willis's John McClane travel to Russia, is out now in the US and UK.
Of course, did anyone expect otherwise? It looked god awful.
I thought so but most people on FP seemed to be looking forward to it

FP has horrible movie taste. I wouldn't be surprised if there's people here who liked Suckerpunch or something

oh boy here we go

FP doesn't have a taste in movies, it is not a person. There are always arguments in the TV/Movies section over a difference in opinion.
John Moore is a shitty director so I'm not surprised
why was he even allowed anywhere near this franchise

Well it's funny you say that....
Good bye my dear John McClane, it has been a long time that our friendship has grown. But I am sorry but....its over.
6 was already confirmed by Willis, I believe.

Turn the sound off and it's alright.

Not enough uguu~ for kanesenpai~
It's a generic action movie thing, just add explosions - how can you mess it up.
Kane everyone knows that media is opinionated and subjective - not one massive mind thinking alike
Damnit, this one actually had some things going for it being kinda okay, the R rating and the fact that it was written as an actual Die Hard movie and didn't just have John McClane slapped in there like 4 did.
Bad Aliens games, bad Die Hard movies. What a depressing week.

Coincidentally, Sucker Punch is rated higher on Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic than A Good Day to Die Hard :v:

not really, I don't think anyone would contend that Sucker Punch wasn't pretty awful.
trailers looked pretty good but i guess this ends my desire to see it
How do you fuck up a Die Hard movie? Did they not put enough explosions in it?
but bruce willis :(

Listening to movie reviews is a bad idea in the first place, judge for yourself. (in my opinion at least)
13% of critics liked it, but 82% of users liked it? Never seen a gap that large before.
tbh i'd care more about what the viewers thinks than the critics. but then i've never seen a single die hard movie.

they're most likely just die hard fans who are unwilling to accept how bad it is

The first one is phenomenal, and I also really like the 3rd one, although it loses some of its steam later in the movie.
Never watched 2, 4 was okay, but it didn't feel like a Die Hard movie at all.
Watch the 1st and 3rd one, though.
I don't care what critics say. It's an action movie, and I will watch it for its entertainment value. Bruce Willis + explosions + guns + cheesy jokes = Good enough for me

DH3 doesn't have a great RT score either. I actually really enjoyed 4.
Die Hard, Die Hard 2, and Die Hard with a Vengeance are all good. Live Free or Die Hard wasn't that good really but has some cool scenes in it.

No I'd take we'll thought out reviews over two sentence pleb reviews

you'd rather trust public votes on the internet than the majority of critics who are actually paid to write reviews and say that it's crap?
