A public firefighting organization is funded by taxes and would also just put out a fire. A government "privatized" (read: contracted) firefighting company pulls shit like this.

I can understand the law itself, but with health things they don't just fucking let you die because you haven't paid your insurance or something, or even if you can't pay your bills, they make you pay it later.

Wow, those Firefighters are fucking assholes, really. Our Fire Department is 100% Voluntary (fires aren't common enough to warrant a full-time paid department around here). They're provided with trucks and equipment, and they do what they need to when they need to.
