• Photoshop CS4 Color to alpha?
    7 replies, posted
Been using Photoshop CS4 trial and I wanted to know how to select a color to alpha so I can make a black background transparent. Can anyone help me?
Select it, press delete. Alternatively, cut and paste it so it's a new layer. Then you can adjust the transparency.
Make a new layer, fill it with black, adjust the opacity in the top of the layers tab.
Above post is the exact opposite of transparency? Anyways, under Select, there should be an option to select a color range. Enter that, click the color you want to delete, hit enter when you have a decent selection, and hit CTRL+X to cut it out. Make sure there's a layer of transparency UNDER your main image.
Oh. Make the black go away, not make the black be see-through. Now that's a bad read. But the progress is quite similar actually. Here is a couple (but not all) ways to do it.
Nevermind, just got GIMP to do my color to alpha and then import it into Photoshop.
Just make a new layer. It defaults transparent... :eng101:
