I haven't played Halo 4 or 5 but i was a really big Halo 1, 2 and 3 fan but both new additions to the series look so different to what i remember. I would almost say it all looks a bit too cinematic or complex but the same could have been said about Halo 2 vs Halo 3
Easily one of the best video game related videos I've seen in a very long time. Great analysis, great editing and a great god-damn voice. Simply bravo.

I had no idea former Republic Commando devs worked on H5, I'll have to pick it up someday if it ever releases in full on PC or if I ever give in and buy an XB1.

The competitive multiplayer of 5 is perfectly fine, if not suffering from a lack of map variety in certain cases. The campaign of 5 is a complete and utter mess in terms of story, on the other hand, and is barely serviceable in terms of gameplay. Even the big reviewers slammed the campaign for how bad it was.

As someone who has played through Halo 4, trust me it isn't. The premise is good but they squander it with cliched writing and melodramatic character conflicts. The gameplay is fine, though the sound design and the boring as fuck Promethians make the game drag on in the later half.

Halo 4 has a[I] okay[/I] plot. An okay plot that meanders without any apparent goal and characters without proper motivations unless you read the novel series released prior to the game.
Yeah I'm watching the video he made for Halo 4 and i'm starting to change my mind, I guess it just sounds much better when stood next to 5.

I've played 4 on 360... it's [I]alright[/I], but nowhere near as good overall compared to the older titles.
That being said, from playing H5 Forge on my WIN10-equipped laptop, it does look nice visually, but then again, that can't make up for bad story or singleplayer gameplay.
Almost makes me want a proper remaster or sequel to Republic Commando now.

I know, I just meant to see if any of the AI mechanics worked well (I posted this before the video had finished covering it, and indeed it seems they're trash).
I'm personally just wanting RC to get remade on a modern engine at some point with better visuals, since for its time it had pretty darn great gameplay.
fantastic watch and hits the nail on the head. the story and campaign was awful but i haven't had this much fun in halo multiplayer since halo 3. it's really fantastic
