My step father just got kicked out of the house! What should I do - General

Hey Facepunch. So as the title says. My step father just got kicked out of the house. My mother never got married to him so it was more of a common law relationship but for a while now my mother has been pissed off at him doing nothing and not giving her any money for feeding and housing him so she finally kicked him out. It was when I went out to dinner with my friends she decided to do it. Now my step father is a sensible man but he is also an alcoholic and we all know what the drink can do to a man. Is there any precautions I should take incase he tries to do anything drastic. He's a very strong man and can easily overpower my mother. Also just in case I sleep with a shank well not really. I use the knife to cut fruit open but its also very sharp and easily concealable. But I would hate to shank my step father because I like him ): Also he still has the keys to the house. Okay why the hell did people rate me funnies. I'm seriously sad and concerned over my parent(s). Both of them will have terrible lives now because of this.
