Enjoy this special director’s cut of “The Iron Giant” which has been remastered and enhanced with two all-new scenes.
Fathom Events and Warner Bros. are excited to bring The Iron Giant: Signature Edition to select cinemas nationwide for a special event screening on Wednesday, September 30 at 7:00 p.m. local time, with an encore event in select markets on Sunday, October 4 at 12:00 p.m. local time.
When “The Iron Giant” arrived in theaters in 1999, it was hailed as an “instant classic” by Joe Morgenstern of The Wall Street Journal and the world soon learned another “giant” had arrived as well: filmmaker Brad Bird, who made his stunning directorial debut with this film and has gone on to win two Oscars, as well as worldwide acclaim for his work on both animated and live-action features. Winner of 9 Annie Awards, “The Iron Giant” is being remastered and enhanced with two all-new scenes! The Iron Giant: Signature Edition will be re-released in theaters across North America for a special Fathom Events screening on Wednesday, September 30 with an encore event on Sunday, October 4.
This will also presumably lead to the film's release on Blu-ray, finally
Finally the movie can get the respect it deserved.
cool I never saw the movie, what do you think of the film smurfy?
Damn, that's awesome. I remember when my dad got HBO, this was the first movie I saw on it when I was little.

He's gonna geeeet iiiiiit
Nice! I love this movie.
Awesome!
I remember loving it in my younger years.
New scenes, eh? Well hopefully they're great.
I do enjoy The Iron Giant, lovely little film.
Holy shit, new scenes?
I hope they include something like the scene at 0:59 in the video below. Brad Bird was wanting to include it in the original film but couldn't due to budget problems. This seems like the perfect opportunity.

i wonder if "new scenes" means deleted scenes from the original, or if they're actually making new scenes (maybe based off unused script elements or something.)
Holy fuck, has that giant Giant (har har) model been shown elsewhere? Or is that the next big promotional tool being used in SDCC's history of big fancy promotional advertisements?
One of my favorite all time movies in my childhood, I still watch it sometimes.
Oh man, I can't wait. Now all someone needs to do is tell me that "Road to El Dorado" and "Titan AE" are finally coming to Blu-Ray and I'll be a happy man.

This scene still tugs at my heart, god damn.
This is one of my all time favorite movies. It was the first movie as a child that helped me realize I'm gay.

Hell yes. One of my five favorite movies of all time (The Incredibles, The Iron Giant, The Road to El-Dorado, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, and Wreck-It Ralph, if you're wondering.)
