Kim Dotcom to release New Zealand's Role in Spying in 'Moment of Truth' Event
"We are showing you the real face behind the lies."

Helping him is celebrated American journalist Glenn Greenwald, who flew into New Zealand on Friday, ready to unveil the fruits of months of work.
Greenwald has access to thousands of classified US government documents released to him by runaway whistleblower Edward Snowden.
Snowden is also expected to speak to the Auckland Town Hall meeting tomorrow night by video message from his exile in Russia.

Dotcom said he would also table incontrovertible documentary evidence Prime Minister John Key lied about his knowledge of Dotcom before the infamous FBI-inspired raids on Dotcom's Coatesville mansion - something Key has consistently denied.
Last August, Key said both he and the head of the GCSB, Ian Fletcher, would resign if it was found the spy agency had conducted mass surveillance.

He repeated last month that there was no mass government surveillance of New Zealanders.
But Greenwald said he had spent several months trawling through his cache of leaked documents specifically studying New Zealand's role in the Five Eyes alliance - the US, Canada, Australia, Britain and New Zealand.
He said: "The documents call seriously into question the central claim Government made in justifying the new law [the Government Communications Security Bureau and Related Legislation Amendment Bill, which gave the government wider spying powers], one made to assuage New Zealanders about fears they have about this bill - that the New Zealand Government doesn't engage in mass surveillance either in general, or against New Zealand citizens."

so do I. fuck me I really don't want national to win.
gotta vote mana internet
i somehow misread that as kim kardashian and sat for 5 minutes in confusion
I thought it was Kim Jong-Un and that it was some North Korean propaganda poster.
National may seem like a bunch of assholes but apart from them I really see no good in New Zealand politics. If Labour is voted in, after Cunliffe pays all his buddies their pre-election promise money people who have worked their way up to earn a good wage will now be penalized out the arse and demonized for making something of themselves while the scum at the bottom sit there with their hands out having everything given too them. They will also have to party up with Greens, Conservative, NZ First or Internet Mana to form a majority government with two of those parties never holding a seat in parliament, the Greens co-leader is too concerned about there being no blacks or poor people on 'Planet Key' and Winston Peters hates foreign investment with a passion.

Honestly, the time for large scale parties is over. The government is too full of old people tbh.

I think every country has a problem with old parliamentarians sticking with their 1900's ideals, but part of the blame lies with the civilian population not knowing or refusing to learn about the proper workings of a government so that voting is something they do based on which party can function efficiently for the country and not just ticking a box every 4 years.

I have noticed that our country doesn't actually teach students/children their civic duties, like how to vote etc. Personally I think polls are what turn people off voting, if they think the party they don't like is going to win, they literally give up, and most likely won't turn up to vote.
