The projects will mark Chappelle’s first standup TV specials in 12 years, and it marks another aggressive push by Netflix in the standup comedy arena. “Dave Chappelle is a legendary voice in comedy — searing, vital, and now more than ever, essential,” said Lisa Nishimura, Netflix’s VP of original documentary and comedy. “Dave’s three new specials promise to be some of the most anticipated events in comedy.” The deal calls for Chappelle and director Stan Lathan to produce an original special for Netflix. Two other unreleased projects will come from Chappelle’s vault — one produced out of the Austin City Limits Live venue, the other from a performance at the Hollywood Palladium. The projects from the vault are set for release simultaneously next year. There’s no premiere date yet for the new special.
Variety Welcome back, Dave.
This makes me happy
Kevin Hart is going to have a breakdown if Dave's planning on sticking around this time.
heeeeeellllllll yeeeeeeeaaaaahhhhh
I need more Dave in my life. Been watching those few shows on Youtube far too many times.
Thank the lord. Go check out the Walking Dead skit he did for SNL. Dave is still a comedy genius.

As someone who has watched standup religiously since childhood, since before I could even understand the jokes, this brings me an immense amount of joy. Stand up comedy has to be one of if not THE most important platform for some of the most influential voices on Earth. At such a pivotal, polarizing time in America it's good to see those voices given a chance to be heard. Welcome back Dave. Welcome back.
So something good did come out of 2016 after all.
I think this will be really great for him. Netflix has always allowed more creative freedom than Hollywood/Television ever has, and that kind of pressure/nonsense is something that's always bothered Dave. (iirc)
Best news of 2016, can't wait to finally see new Chappelle. Thank fuck Netflix has enough money to convince him to come back
I kinda find it funny that Dave reached such a wider audience than he originally intended.
