• Can I still get high?

Okay for the past few months I've been in therapy. At first, the doctors told me I had schizophrenia then they told me I'm okay and I never had schizophrenia and I'm like "what the fuck." I know pot can aggravate symptoms of schizophrenia so... I'm a bit apprehensive of starting to smoke up again because I'm afraid I'm just going to get worse and worse and end up as a non-psychopathic version of Pat Bateman.
They told you you don't have schizophrenia so what's the problem?
Weed is a mind altering drug. It really depends on if you think the doctors were right the first time, and they're wrong now, or vice versa. Even so, with any other mental disorder, it can make things worse or better.
They told you you don't have schizophrenia so what's the problem?
It just scares me... Everything is scary but that's not the point. I mean... they told me I had that shit after just two sessions with my therapist and all of a sudden I'm being fucking given meds that made me feel mindless and I'm being told I'm a dangerous crazy person... then I'm all of a sudden being told I'm completely okay and I'm having my meds taken from me when I was already dependant on them (ughhhh withdrawal sucked... I think I spent three entire days either in, or on the verge of a panic attack... Don't remember much.) So much stress... nggh. Who knows if they're right or wrong? That's the point. Does anyone here know? ometimes I feel like even the doctors didn't know and they acted anyways.
If you are willing to risk it. You can try to take one hit slowly, wait minutes, if anything crazy starts to happen (extreme paranoia, crazy thoughts, hallucinations, sounds), stop. If you truly have schizophrenia, you might get crazy after smoking weed, but it shouldn't be permanently. Craziness might last a bit longer that weed itself. Also, how did you ended in therapy? If weed caused anything, then, you already got the answer.
Okay I started hearing voices and became really depressed and paranoid/anxious in... January 2009. First time I ever got high was October 2009. I don't think weed caused it... They uh, released me... I'm over my depression, they said, and I agree kinda... And my anxiety is still there but it's not as bad as it used to be. Apparently I'm not schizophrenic.
Then I guess you are kinda safe to try.
or u could start with indica strains like afghan. lower THC, higher CBD.
I'd just go for it. Personally I don't believe 100% in mental illnesses, especially ADHD. I reckon it's more mind over matter, and if you have the mental strength it shouldn't be a problem at all. Just try smoking a little, then perhaps more if you aren't feeling it/you feel ready for more, tell yourself that the marijuana isn't going to do bad to you, when you can properly tell yourself that, then smoking shouldn't be a problem, I mean, you should try it again at least once.
I've heard voices, and was really paranoid too, but that was just because of a lot of other drug abuse. did you used to use other drugs?
No... I never did a single mind-altering or recreational drug before I first smoked pot that day in October.
I think the only way we'll know whether or not your schizophrenia is gone or not is if you just smoke. Just stay calm before you take a hit, while you take a hit, and after you take a hit. Remember, paranoia is all just a mental thing. Mind over matter man.
Remember, paranoia is all just a mental thing. Mind over matter man.
It's also part of the fun if you want it to be. Have you ever got high with a couple of mates and just spent hours trying to freak each other out by saying stuff to play on each-other's paranoia? As long as you all understand that nothing's probably going to go wrong, you can have a great time.
My friend asa is a schitzo and he smokes weed EVERY DAY. As well as trips and other shit, he goes hard. But he says it makes it worse for him but he doesn't give a FUCK.

As did I
Meh, it's my personal opinion on it
It just happens to be wrong...
Oh well, that may be the case, but from my experiences, it is far from it...
Oh well, that may be the case, but from my experiences, it is far from it...
This is off topic from the thread, so I will attempt not to de-rail it any farther. Your opinion is poorly constructed, but it is still yours. I suggest not posing your opinion in the same manner in the future on this subject, because you WILL be laughed at.
ADHD is real but i bet there's a ton of people being wrongly diagnosed with it

My friends and I often end up telling ghost stories or watching scary videos. and we almost always smoke at night so i get well freaked out
Dudes, this is a discussion forum. People's opinions were made to be posted. He is right in some aspects, at the end of the day, we are in control of our minds. Not saying that there are no effects on our brain.

For now though, this thread is about the OP's ability to get high. If he doesn't make a new thread, he didn't want to argue about it anyway, and that's fine.
I don't think mental disorders should be diagnosed and categorized. Everyone is different and acts different. What you may call schizophrenia in someone may be entirely different to another person and their reaction to medication may be different as well

Schizophrenia has to be diagnosed not to put a label on somebody, but so that it can be treated using the best known ways possible. Be that shock therapy, drugs, whatever. Because everybody is different, that is why some people don't ever get a cure. And schizophrenia is schizophrenia. No ands, ifs or buts about it.
Meader, dear god, I could fucking hug you right now
