And this is the west, the part people fled to and the part German command abandoned to fight the Soviets, knowing it'd be left in good hands.
I moved to Berlin 6 years ago from CT and it is really wild to see how war can shape a place. It's so sad to see one pre war building in a row of ugly modern quick throw ups, knowing that street used to be grand and baroque and beautiful.
