An interesting video. Well worth the 2:46 it took from my life.

o.0 she's Australian.
It looks bad when you see it like this but... it's Google!
In a lot of ways Google has more potential power than any government.
that was actually pretty cool
Ha, i knew it was building to something, yey for darth vader.
[B]Bing, I am your father.

I think the only way to be Anti Google or completely anonymous would be not to own any kind of tech that connects to anything.
Ever thought how hard that would be?
I, for one, support google's monopolization of everything we do. If i can use my Google account to get health care, then use it to pay for electricity, then so be it.
If Google ever turns evil we could be in for a bumpy ride :ohdear:
Holy shit.
I made a thread at some point about how much Google could know about me if they looked at all the data they had. People called me a paranoid dumbshit even though I was just speculating curiously.
Google sent me a £75 google adsense voucher. I was surprised, not because i got a voucher, but because they knew my address. I can't remember giving them it :3
I would rather not have google know everything about me and have my DNA

Or just learn how to keep yourself hidden.
some serious shit we got here.
:iia:
but scary :crying:
Google is god. All-knowing and powerful.
..:ohdear:

It was related, old but still interesting. The hungry beast is pretty good actually.
Yeah, it's a little unnerving to know that there's something out there with that much knowledge and power. They could do pretty much anything they wanted to.
LOL scare tactics. Probably made by some Microsoft, Apple or Yahoo inside man for ABC. Honestly, as long as Google doesn't make stupid decisions and that they continue doing an excellent job with their products I don't care if they have a monopoly. Also, your info has been everywhere for anyone to read since the advent of servers. Everything you have done online has been traced back to your IP address, and I also agree with the one quotation "If you have done something you don't want people knowing, should have you been doing it in the first place?" Honestly, can anything compare to the relative ease of use and convenience of Gmail, Google Search, Google Maps, Google Earth or Youtube? Not really.
"If you have done something you don't want people knowing, should have you been doing it in the first place?"
I find this quote very fucking stupid because is one's right to do what they want, weather they do it in private or not is their personal choice.
Honestly, Google is one of the coolest companies out there in my opinion. This is just paranoia and scare tactics put forth by other companies.
I mean come on...

I've always hated Google. Sweet Jesus.
I find this quote very fucking stupid because is one's right to do what they want, weather they do it in private or not is their personal choice.
People have to start realizing the internet is not a private place. Sure it allows you to appear anonymous, but that doesn't mean it makes you anonymous.
i don't want google around my private life
i don't want google fucking around my private life
so don't put your private life on the internet
"Google wants to..."
How does this bitch know Google's intent?
This is just more anti-google scare propaganda.
I'd be concerned about this, except for as long as Google has been around, they've been nothing more than a search engine to me.
Let's take a look at the things you'd actually be worried about:
Here's a few of the things Google wants to own: Your Phone (Droid OS)...Your email (Gmail) Your Computer (Google Chrome)....Your entire digital life
Let's not forget about our friends Microsoft and Apple. The Android OS is nowhere near overtaking the iPhone, and most people are seeing the tiny bit of competition they're offering as a good thing.
Gmail might not be too far behind Live Mail, but Yahoo is still crushing both of them.
And Chrome? Are you kidding me? They're not the ones getting their asses kicked in the EU for "stifling browser competition."
It also wants to own the cables that deliver the internet itself and the electricity to power them
Yes, they want to be an ISP and they want to use their servers that are everywhere to become an energy/utility company. Probably the most interesting point raised, but I'm not going to start panicking unless it really takes off.
and, it wants to know where everything is, all the way from your front lawn....
The street view thing is pretty shady. They'll take off images of your home if you ask them to, and they're blurring out faces now.
Google wants to track you, storing records of everything you look at online for 18 months. It also wants access to your health records, and your DNA.
Google stores a surprising amount of information about how people have used their services. If it turns out Google has been looking through people's Gmail accounts, okay, there's a problem. If you don't have a google account, the most you have to worry about is the search engine's cache, which stores bits of public web pages for a period of time.
Google now offers a service that allows you to store your health records. They also invested in a gene sequencing project.
If you don't want them to have your personal information....don't give it to them?
Google wants to follow your friendships...social media platform google buzz was engulfed in complaints last month over alleged privacy breaches
Google doesn't want to know who you're dating...they just did a shitty job setting it up. Everyone with a Gmail account was automatically opted into buzz, and the program drew information from other google apps. It also automatically chose who would be able to see that kind of information. In other words, if you had sent a lot of emails to someone in the past, they would be signed up to follow your updates.
The big concern is that they want to be everything, but if that happens it'll be our fault.
