Hello Facepunchers. Im quite clueless, I have no idea if I should get a New TV(And probably Ps3) or a New Computer. I got a 20 or 24 inch big fat tv atm I use for my Xbox and Wii. My computer is a laptop thats prietty good but it wont take 2010 games like Me2 and so on.
I was thinking a 40 inch Flatscreen HD tv and ps3 or one off the best gaming PC's money will buy(Im building it.)
Help me facepunchers... Your my only hope.
:P

pc
I don't see the fuss about TVs. Depending on your budget I'd say you'd get a lot more enjoyment out of a lovely new PC than a big telly. The big TV would be impressive at first but it would get boring quickly. An awesome PC would be the better investment.
Computer. It can play games, watch TV, and browse the web to name only a few.
TV is shit.
Cheap computer and more games.

That's some pretty terrible logic right there.
PC over TV any day.
I would say PC
Expensive computer and no games? :saddowns:
:P Ill have about 2100$ to lay out. Its just that I am enjoying my xbox more and more since I bought MW2 and BFBC2(Mw2 at release ofc.) and it is a big pain playing on my small uggly tv. (Its half broken, wont take my headset)

... are you saying that buying a shitty computer and then buying a bunch of games it can't play would be the better option?
Haha wow.

Do you know what the word logic means?
In my opinion I would go with the PC, I would much personally prefer to get a new PC then a TV even though my current PC is fine and can play all 2010 games released so far :D
Some thinking tips:
1. Is your TV big enough for yourself? Is it HD?
If not, get a new TV.
2. Do you have a PS3/Xbox 360/Wii and regularly play on it on a small screen?
If true, get a new TV
3. Is your current computer slow?
If true, get a new computer
4. Does your current computer run games well?
If false, get a new computer
5. Has your computer got XP or Vista?
If true, get a new Windows 7 computer
Get the PC and a TV Tuner card.
You can also get cords for your Xbox to hook it up to a monitor if you wanted to replace your tv altogether.

A: Its prietty annoying with a small TV. I watch tv for 5-4 Hours a day not including playing 360/Wii
2. Do you have a PS3/Xbox 360/Wii and regularly play on it on a small screen?
If true, get a new TV
A: Yea.
3. Is your current computer slow?
If true, get a new computer
A: Yea, and it broke down.
4. Does your current computer run games well?
If false, get a new computer
A: No... I lagg on L4D1 (About 6months ago since I played)
5. Has your computer got XP or Vista?
If true, get a new Windows 7 computer
A: Vista
Well, Its about equal.
Well, what do you want the MOST?
If your computer has broken down, definetely get a new computer.
I recommend getting a custom-built one from a pc store. They're normally better than the ones at PC World etc..
TV.
Im building my own. Going off to study IT next year. And im handy with a PC.
EDIT: Prietty hard to choose in my oppinion. I'd like both but I know I cant :/
I'd probably only use the PS3 for God of War 3, Heavy Rain and some other PS3 only games.
Well, then get a PC and just put up with a small screen.

Oh is that all? This is U.S. dollars right? You have enough to get a TV, computer and a PS3 if you spend wisely. (knowing how to build your own computer would help quite a bit)
what a stupid question
pc>tv

The 2100$ depends. It was when 6,5 Swedish Currency was 1$. Now I believe its 11 Swedish Currency in 1 Dollar. So its quite a big difference. Im bad at counting out currency since I dont usally post threads like this. a Ps3 is about 500$ here in Sweden. the 360 is 350$. Its a big leap because things are cheaper in America and you dont get as much an hour in work but in Sweden we get more per hour in work but things are more expensive. I will probably have about 14,000 Swedish currency after my B-Day, money from passing school(Graduation) and fixing up and selling the PC I own now.
I could build a great PC for 12000 Kronor (Swedish Currency)
EDIT: In Norway everything costs 2x then Sweden, but they get payed 2x. People go to norway to work and then they go back to sweden.
Its like that compared with the US and many countries off the EU.
I would get the TV and a PS3 as your blu-ray player. I just did, and haven't looked back.

But do you already have a good computer?

Oh I see, you're right that is a pretty big difference. I guess it all depends on what you would spend more time on.
My PC I got now is a Blu-Ray, I dont see big difference between DVD and Blu-Ray. Blu-Ray isnt really a big deal for me. Because when I watch a movie I usally put it in the 360 and talk to my friends while I watch.
Also I got a question.. I had a PS2 and PS1, does the PS3 controllers feel cheap? My memories off the Ps2 and Ps1 is that the controllers felt cheap, lite and that it was almost just a void filling the controller.
But do you already have a good computer?
No. I mostly got the PS3 for blu-ray, although I've started doing a quit a bit of gaming on it, which has been awesome with with all the PS3 exclusives that have been dropping recently.
It's really up to you though, OP. Maybe you could get a gaming PC and a new monitor instead.
