Holy Shit it looks good!
So did season 8 trailer
Eugh. That chick from Game of Thrones. It was bad enough with Clara, now we have to deal with her, too?
Nope. I'll watch it, but I'll hate myself for it.
Just a reminder that we also have a Doctor Who megathread: http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1446353&page=21 :v:
Haven't watched since the 10th Doctor, and this trailer didn't grab me in any way. Just a bunch of close ups, explosions and recycled enemies.
The thing is if I do not have the nelson ratings box then I it shouldn't matter how bad it is, you'll never know if I watch it or not.
Also is Moffat ever going to leave?

You're welcome to your opinion, but quite frankly, from someone who watched just a little bit of GoT, I found her to be annoying. Annoying to look at, and annoying to hear, and watch her act.

I hope we get a new companion to replace Clara this season.

So was the series it promoted. Sue me.

Probably the worst series since the show got rebooted IMO.
Every time something got interesting they just dropped it and moved onto the next monster of the week and the overarching plot was not worth the payoff of the last two episodes, which didn't even make much sense - even by Dr Who standards.
Does this mean there can be a GoT and Doctor Who cross over where he steps in for Oberyn and fights the Mountain in a trial by combat and gets beheaded so this show can finally end?
I feel lucky that I don't seem to mind any of the companions from between the 9th Doctor and the current one we have (aka the ones I've actually watched), for whatever reason. I can only imagine that it's because I don't pay much attention to what kind of personality each of them have or maybe I'm just extremely tolerant. It doesn't make it easy for me to guess which companion is largely disliked.
I'm really hoping we get a lot less "the life and times of Clara" and more of the Doctor doing doctor who shit.
(a bunch of) recycled enemies
Literally only two. One of which is contractually obligated to be used once a year, and the other of which is only it's third time in 40 years being used. Which is a continuation of it's second time.

Starring Sid the Sloth as young Clara.

Indeed - thankfully they have explicitly stated that Clara is no longer torn between her home life / TARDIS life etc.
So that's promising. As is the lack of Danny Pink and his wells.

Series 2 & 6 are competing for that honour. Disappeared up its own backside in a puff of smugness. I enjoyed the last series, apart from In the Forest of the Bollocks & the second half of Kill the Egg.

I was going to post this. I think Series 2 gets away with it because it came before the show really really exploded in popularity and quality. But if we had a Series 2 now- it never would've worked. Fear Her and Love & Monsters back to back. Ouch.
I think Series 8 was getting it all back on track. It was being fresh but still stuck in it's ways. Still no sense of danger for a lot of it, some dodgy slapstick and reusing writers who have the same ideas. Moffat co-writing instead of doing episodes by himself was a truly grand idea. Every story should have multiple writers.

They fucking [sp]brought back The Master[/sp]. How is that a bad thing or a bad payoff.
i like the episode with robin hood where they shoot the fucking golden arrow into the spaceship to make it fly further
did they write that episode while on crack

Are Daleks the contract one?

Yeah, it was pretty much 60s Doctor Who levels of logic.
I couldn't handle that one, too retarded
