Rob Ford’s attempts to reform his image ahead of the mayoral election this year appear to have been shattered after a damaging new video surfaced Tuesday showing the Toronto mayor drunk, swearing and making offensive remarks about the city’s police chief. Just moments after councillor Doug Ford rushed to defend his brother claiming “100% [the video] didn’t happen last night,” the major emerged Tuesday afternoon to confirm the clip had been taken Monday night, and that he had been drinking, further compounding the embarrassment for Ford Nation. The new Ford video, which comes after repeated claims that he has not touched drugs or alcohol since November, when he admitted to smoking crack cocaine, shows the mayor rambling and swearing incoherently in Jamaican patois slang in a Toronto restaurant. “I was with some friends and what I do in my personal life, with my personal friends, that’s up to me. This really has nothing to do with you guys,” Ford told reporters Tuesday afternoon. The mayor wouldn’t address questions about his past claims that he quit drinking. “C-cks–ker….F—ing Chief Blair,” Ford says at the start of the video, recorded in Steak Queen, a Rexdale-area restaurant. The video was posted to YouTube Tuesday, but the user did not immediately respond to a request for comment. “They chase me around for five months man…bumbaclot,” Ford then says in slurred words, using a Jamaican patois slang term for “f–k.” His next few sentences are incomprehensible. Ford has repeatedly claimed that he has not touched drugs or alcohol since November, when he admitted to smoking crack cocaine “in a drunken stupor.” The video could be damaging to Ford’s campaign for re-election, as he has staked his reputation to being clean and sober since November. Ford “guaranteed” he has stopped drinking in interviews last year and told the CBC he had a “come to Jesus” moment about his drinking.
http://news.nationalpost.com/2014/01/21/new-rob-ford-video-appears-to-show-the-mayor-in-a-drunken-stupor-swearing-and-speaking-incomprehensibly/
This will be blasted through the media, CP-24 will have a field day, and then nothing will happen. He'll be re-elected, and continue his powerless mayor campaign on a drunken binge, and a past of doing crack, and lord knows what else. Guy is a fucking idiot, and a mayor of a city. A goddamn chimp could do better than this moron to represent the largest city in Ontario.
The ride never ends. A good number of polls I've read don't show him winning a re-election however. One can certainly hope. [Sp]I want to get off Mr. Ford's wild ride[/sp]
It's just depressing now. I can't even laugh at him, because I still have some shred of empathy.
he is stuck in a hole and it seems he can't get out

He's an old white man who hates taxes and he does lots of drugs and while taking part in stupid adventures late at night.
He should become mayor of Surrey.
He should become mayor of Surrey.
He'll need a pair of designer sunglasses first.
I know he's entertaining and all, but can't you guys like... do something about him? Besides wait until the election that is.
I know he's entertaining and all, but can't you guys like... do something about him? Besides wait until the election that is.
no, council can strip powers, but thats about it
It's like he's fucking trying at this point holy shit.
I'll have rob ford any day, he seems like a right laugh to have around.
Well Chief Blair is a cunt
Well Chief Blair is a cunt
I wish Chief Blair had been the kind of cunt to interrupt what was very likely to be a drug deal between one Mr. Alessandro Lisi and Mayor Bumblefuck with cops so that there'd be, you know, red-handed evidence and mug shots. Instead it was like Mayor Ford has some sort of extraordinary right to privacy that even the cops respect against all logic and intuition.
If only this man had been born in the US.... His skills as an orator are amazing.
Well Chief Blair is a cunt
he obviously isn't doing his job properly if rob ford isn't in jail
he obviously isn't doing his job properly if rob ford isn't in jail
Jail for what? sure he's a bumbling stooge but I really don't care if he smoked crack he shouldn't go to jail for it.
Jail for what? sure he's a bumbling stooge but I really don't care if he smoked crack he shouldn't go to jail for it.
Driving drunk, beating his wife.
Driving drunk, beating his wife.
Yeah but arresting someone generally isn't retroactive you either catch them in the act or not. And I've never heard the beating his wife one before. [editline]21st January 2014[/editline] actually that sounds a little retarded what I said when you think about uncovering murders and what not but I think you get what I'm saying.
Yeah but arresting someone generally isn't retroactive you either catch them in the act or not. And I've never heard the beating his wife one before.
I've heard it, but they've never substantiated it. And how Blair's handled Ford still doesn't change the validity of your statement.
He should run for PM

With things like drugs, abuse or something you may have some allegation or admission but without a smoking crack pipe it's hard to press charges against them. If you could just go "Oh he totally admitted to X" or "Everyone knows he totally does Y" then it would be a world where police could just haul you in for anything they felt like.
I know he's entertaining and all, but can't you guys like... do something about him? Besides wait until the election that is.
It's an issue with politics in general. No one that could fill the position wants it.
I like how this incident solidifies something.
Namely, Doug can be counted upon to be lying 100% of the time if what he is saying is denying allegations about Rob. What's kind of funny if depressing is watching Rob sabotage his brother by confirming the allegations to the media less than an hour later. This has happened several times now.
