Robert Rodriguez had the idea for a Machete movie before Spy Kids, but the project got shelved and Machete got introduced as the uncle in Spy Kids.
Later there was actually a fake trailer for Machete in Grindhouse, and every single scene in the fake trailer ended up in the first machete movie.

And it completely makes sense within the context of the spy kids universe and I love it because of that.
All this crazy shit happens everywhere in the spy kids movies, you'd come to expect crazy shit goes on beyond just the kids stuff.
I never heard of this movie, so I was expecting a video of a machete killing a trailer.
