The category four hurricane a week ago killed 16 people on the island and left millions in need of aid. In a series of tweets, Trump said that Puerto Rican officials showed "poor leadership ability" and "want everything to be done for them". It comes after the Mayor of San Juan made a desperate plea for help.
Fucking disgusting.
I really can't put into words just how much I hate Donald Trump.
Yeah, is the Democrats' fault for telling her to get pissy with Trump, not actually, you know, criticize him for his pathetic delayed response to a disaster that has killed American citizens. It's not as if he appeared to not even be aware that Puerto Ricans count as American citizens or anything.
10,000 Federal workers now on Island doing a fantastic job.
And here's Trump's "heck of a job" quote. Or at the least, one of them. We'll just forget the week Trump spent ignoring the crisis on PR while shitposting about kneeling during the anthem at football games. Maybe if he hadn't done that the mayor wouldn't be indirectly making him look bad? ...nah, what am I saying, that's clearly fake news. :downs:
poor leadership ability" and "want everything to be done for them".
The lack of self-awareness in the man's brain to produce this drivel has literally caused American citizens to die on Puerto Rico. I'm dumbfounded. Who wants to be the first person to tell me Hillary would've handled this worse?
What's the point of this? Where is the master strategy here? What does Trump, or anyone, stand to gain from this hostility to Puerto Rico? I'm not seeing what the play is. There's no value to Trump's attitude here, not strategically, not morally, and certainly not in terms of PR. There's only some very, very strong undertones of racism

she's the mayor in charge of one of the worst disaster zones the US has seen since katrina and she had some choice words about the president, fuck him

"They want everything to be done for them." You. Fucking. Shitpile. Motherfucker.
Trump won 2016 without the hispanic vote, I doubt he's worried about earning it now.
But that does nothing to answer what I asked. Of course he's not worried about the hispanic vote, doesn't mean he should go out of his way to antagonize them. It's yet another move by Trump that is detrimental, and only detrimental.
Trump, who is at his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, this weekend, is scheduled to speak with FEMA Administrator Brock Long, Puerto Rico Gov. Ricardo Rossello and other Puerto Rican officials Saturday.
http://www.cnn.com/2017/09/30/politics/trump-tweets-puerto-rico-mayor/index.html fucking ass is in NJ on vacation, making everybody fly to him instead of in DC where they can meet with him in the WH. He's made it harder for the government to coordinate with him.
trump bashing on someone for someones leadership skills is like watching a grown man who constantly has his pants filled with steaming diarrhea criticize elders who wear diapers

Being dismissive and an asshole to brown people maintains his racist white following, and maybe converts more on the fence racists to his cause.
I wonder if he's just using the situation as a stage that everyone currently has their eyes on to "teach" his followers that people who criticize him are incompetent pawns used by Democrats. Or maybe he's just once again creating a scandal so attention is diverted from a bigger problem elsewhere?

I hope his golf club gets protesters outside it all the time he's there.

I'm dumbfounded. Who wants to be the first person to tell me Hillary would've handled this worse?
I have a feeling that even if neonazis used a magic weather machine to create a swastika-shaped hurricane and sent it towards DC, Trump would still wait for a chance to yell at people criticizing his late response before actually responding to said swastikane. I mean, seriously? His response to "We have people dying, no power, and dwindling food supplies, and have been waiting over a week for help since our own president initially refused to help us" is really to say "oooooh, what is this, SOCIALISM!!!? get your own rescue boats"? What a piece of shit.
"They want everything to be done for them," says the President of the United States about US citizens dying on a small island that was ravaged by a massive hurricane. Absolutely fucking despicable. This man is a disgrace to the office of the presidency, and a disgrace to our country.
He should be aware that New Jersey has a huge population of Puerto Ricans. I hope his golf club gets protesters outside it all the time he's there.
Ohhh let's hope it does.
As someone currently in Puerto Rico I'll say this. Trump if you really believe that people here are just sitting on their asses waiting for you to save them then by all mean ask the mayor of San Juan to give you a tour of all that progress and great work being done.
China could help, imagine China's plans in Africa expanded to Puerto Rico.
China could help, imagine China's plans in Africa expanded to Puerto Rico.
He denied Houston any aid from Mexico, there's no way in hell he'll let China in.

He seems to blow up at women whenever he gets questioned by them.
It's amazing to say, but this is one of the most disgusting things he's done so far. Truly there is no bottom with this man.

Trumps an idiot for taking the bait The mayor bitches and moans about help in a warehouse full of aid that can't go out because Puerto Rican's aren't showing up for work to move it out(can't get to work, more worried about family, etc etc whatever the case may be, there's a huge shortage of drivers). So now FEMA and the DOD have to figure out how to help those working to clear and reopen roads and now we have to find people to move the aid out. That shit doesn't happen overnight. And she seems to be alone in this. The Governor paints an entirely different picture.
"We need to do a lot more in order for us to get out of the emergency," Puerto Rico Gov. Ricardo Rosselló said in San Juan. "But the other thing that's also true is that the administration has answered and has complied with our petitions in an expedited manner."

• All phone landlines are now working, but cell service still is mostly down. Only 10.7% of cell towers were operational Saturday morning. • The government still is in the process of buying a few thousand crates of private-sector goods -- such as food meant for grocery stores -- that have been sitting idle at the Port of San Juan. Companies that can't access the port and deliver the goods will be forced to sell the items to the commonwealth, which will distribute them, Rosselló said. • About 10,000 people are in roughly 230 shelters. • About half of the island's customers have regular water service. • Millions of meals and liters of water are being sent from ports to 11 distribution points throughout the island, where local governments can pick them up for distribution. In some cases, FEMA or other agencies are delivering directly to isolated communities. • Fifty-one of the island's 69 hospitals are open. Nine of the open hospitals have regular electricity service; the rest are powered by generators.
