Slippery-Q brought up that he though we should have more contests. I completely agree. Things like this give people a reason to go out and shoot.
I was outside mowing the lawn today and thought all the fall colors were beautiful right now.
Would anyone be interesting in having a Mini-contest for fall colors?
I don't think we need judges or anything, just base it off rankings.
Guidelines would be; [B]Give me your best shot at displaying the colors of Fall.
[/B]Rules; Must be taken within the months of 9/12 and 10/12 (entries will end in October)
Winners will be based on a mixture of everything (lighting, composition, pp, etc.) and will be chosen by the community.
I was thinking for the ranking system we could either do:
If you think the picture deserves first, rate Winner
If you think the picture deserves second, rate Artistic
If you think the picture deserves third, rate Agree
Then we would take the average of each picture (Winner = 3pts, Artistic = 2pts, Agree = 1pt)
and the photo with the largest average wins.
Or:
At the end of October, we open voting for a select number of days, and people vote for their first second and third place pictures.
Person with the most votes would get first, second with the most votes would get second, and so on.
Thoughts? Ideas? Suggestions? I'd love to start stuff like this up.

I think we should do a ratings ratio system since early posts tend to get more ratings. That or the open voting.
Also I'm throwing in my spare Metro 2033 STEAM gift for prices if you guys want that.
Everything here is still green as ever :v:.
I think a final vote at the end of the competition would be best, as earlier posts will probably get more ratings.
That or a new thread is opened and each picture gets posted at the same time, for ratings voting.

I knew this would be a problem, but I Just wanted to make a contest that would be quick. Maybe we change it to a picture that best displays the seaon you're in?

That is currently the only photo I have that has really killer fall colors. I hope to get out more, but we'll see.
It's too bad where I live; fall looks the same as summer but just milder in temperature.

that seems like a much better idea.
Will try to take some fall pictures tomorrow. I just hope the sun comes out, otherwise everything is dull and boring.
Thanks for making me get off my ass and out shooting, it was a great day today. Walked around the city for a couple of hours. Up here in the Netherlands, you really have to work to find some trees that have fall colours. Got plenty of other shots but these two are the only ones worth uploading.
