WikiLeaks reported suffering a "Sustained attack" after it announced the upcoming release of hundreds of thousands of documents relating to Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan's Justice and Development Party in the wake of a failed military coup.
"We are unsure of the true origin of the attack. The timing suggests a Turkish state power faction or its allies."
Earlier WikiLeaks announced that the release of documents, which could expose the Turkish "Political power structure", will contain 300,000 emails and 500,000 documents.
Not sure how it could be a conventional false flag
The leadership involved face life imprisonment and possibly the death penalty - why would they agree to do it knowing it will ruin their lives?

The theory is that they were tricked into believing they had much more support than they thought. This could have been a plot years in the making.

You can trick people into doing things. For all we know Erdogan issued coup orders to parts of the military most likely to coup, pretending the orders came from military generals.

this is like the most blatantly obvious answer, I'm not sure how people are so confused that yes, people WOULDN'T agree to knowingly destroy themselves with a false flag coup. It's layers of deception inside and out

The people that get death penalties are the people that got suckered into it...
the idea is to infiltrate the coup people and help them organise it so you know exactly when and how it will go down, so when it goes down all the coup people are caught with their pants down like roaches under a lifted rock...
In false flags the people that actually do it are not always informed they are indeed executing a false flag... the term goes further then just a ship sailing under the flag of an enemy.
That used to be the plot of how the rebellion was formed in Star Wars before force unleashed was made noncanon, Vader trained an apprentice to form a rebellion under the guise of overthrowing the emperor for himself so he and the emperor could just kill all the would be rebel sympathizers and fighters, it fucked up and they accidentally started their own opposition that led to their demise
Is there any sign of this happening in this real situation? Did they fuck up?
Hopefully this'll only serve to compromise Erdogan further.
Can't wait :).

i knew i was not only one seeing a similarity here.
Also, wonder if wikileaks got those documents from "other" sources.
As in someone somewhere wishes to retaliate for failed attempt and follwing arrogance in Erdog's actions.
[SP]CIA?[/SP]

Oh please, you think the CIA would do something as baby mode as a DDOS? Those fuckers would wipe out entire countries to hide what they've done.

no, i mean if they would provide aid to compromise Erdogan by sharing info, not attacking the site.

Oh, I'm retarded, forgive me.
Yeah that sounds about right, kind of par for the course for the CIA to stir the shit-pot.

Is that really how the rebellion started? Christ, I'd feel like the biggest fuck up of all the bad guys.
"So how'd you lose your seat in power?"
"Uh..well, made a rebellion so I could kill those who sympathized with them, turns out...the whole rebel thing was more popular than the whole empire thing"
The leaders will feel as dumb as a bag of rocks if this is how it played out for Turkey.

Not as bad as in the dune sequels where omnius gets his galactic empire crushed from making a bet that killing a single baby wouldn't start a rebellion.
At least these attacks are not 1 sided. Current statement from OpTurkey.

First batch is out, according to reddit a lot of it is spam and viruses, so be careful if you go looking.
This one seems to imply Turkey smuggled missiles into Palestine for use against Israel.
