That's a crazy good zoom on that camera.
i mean, each of those lenses are worth thousands of dollars, not surprising :v: [t]http://www.imaging-resource.com/?ACT=44&fid=17&d=1675&f=nikon-cameras-iss-1.jpg[/t] [t]http://static.bhphoto.com/images/images500x500/Nikon_2173_Telephoto_AF_S_Nikkor_600mm_1233150256000_520646.jpg[/t] ^ $10,000 lens they have up there, probably the one used in the video
Is that the dude that did that Space Oddity cover in Space? I forgot his name but he is a really inspiring person.

and they all laughed at me in grade three geography for thinking that giant letters spelling out the country name float over them

I could see my house from there! (the New York shot)
Inspiring and depressing at the same time.
i just realized lack of gravity = crazy good camera hand stability i also just realized that the station is rotating, and not moving at ludicrous speeds
i just realized lack of gravity = crazy good camera hand stability i also just realized that the station is rotating, and not moving at ludicrous speeds
so 27,000 KM/h is not ludicrous speed? :v: That's like 7.5 kilometers a second. Besides, I don't think the ISS ever rotates as you suggest. It keeps its rotation still relative either: - to the position of the earth (for observation purposes maybe?) - to the position of the sun (for power generation)
Christ-Motherfucking-Hadfield
I saw his live talk in perth a couple of weeks ago he even sung space oddity live.
But wait, there's more!
My favourite part about this is the royalty-free music playing over the top of it. I've heard that song so many times that it sounds like a parody by now.
I know it's cliche to say, but the world looks soo small from up there. Cities and other areas look so close together.
Spend some time on Google Maps in satellite mode sometime. It helps you gain a better geographical perspective.

What I love is that some shots seem like you're looking down at the Earth, while others it feels like they're looking up and are beneath it.
What I love is that some shots seem like you're looking down at the Earth, while others it feels like they're looking up and are beneath it.
this, it felt so weird seeing the ocean and the clouds "above" it from "underneath" the earth
