Apple Pay is coming to Canada by the end of this year, but it will be limited to American Express customers — at least at first.
The longtime rumour was confirmed by CEO Tim Cook, who said that Apple is parterning with American Express to bring Apple Pay, the company’s mobile payments solution that debuted with the iPhone 6 in 2014, to Canada and Australia by the end of this year, and Hong Kong, Singapore and Spain at the beginning of 2016.
This seems like a great idea. I can't wait until someone has their phone stolen only to find out their account has been cleared out.

You do realize that if an iDevice is set to lost mode, Apple Pay is automatically suspended, right?

If the device is set to lost, You'd be surprise how many times people don't do just that and i'm not just talking about phones either.

Their loss, especially considering the fact that Apple made Find my iPhone on iOS, what was previously a separately downloadable app, a SYSTEM APP in iOS 9. There's literally no way any sane person would ignore it, they would at least have a look once.

A lot of people will see it, go 'hurrduurrr bloatware', and never set it up/use it.

And "Tap" technology is safe?
If the device is set to lost, You'd be surprise how many times people don't do just that and i'm not just talking about phones either.
it requires your fingerprint

Yeah unless you're a moron basically. A metal wallet will prevent RFID theft and if your card is stolen, call your bank and cancel it. Plus a good bank will let you set limits on how much can be bought with tap pay, so even if they try and go on a spending spree all they'll be able to do is buy a bunch of coffees. They'd be able to do a lot more with a credit card online.

yes
it is
if you get scammed out of an "rfid blocking wallet" thats your loss

Apparently on Apple's support page for setting up Apple Pay on iOS, Touch ID isn't a requirement. You can have as minimum as a PIN, but no sliding to unlock.
