While the gameplay was a fun game, the main characters were just too fucking corny for me to really enjoy the game that much. Events like this, or that stupid fucking cutscene when they are surfing on their fucking shoes down a big ass cable to save Yuna just kinda threw me off. @2:15 Basically, there was a lot of cringe throughout the game and I didn't much like it.
but the best part of ffx is the goofiness of it all??
I couldn't imagine FFX if it was any more serious, it's actually a really dark game when you break it down. The rulers are all dead, and the city they rule destroyed the main characters city a millenium before. The main character died at that time, but was "brought back to life" in the form of a physical 'memory' so that he could try and fix all the busted shit going on in the world. But how he was brought back to life is freaky, literally hundreds of thousands of people are embedded into the side of a mountain, neither dead nor alive, but dreaming eternally to keep their city alive in spirit, hence why Titus lives. Hell, kids grow up just to kill themselves to stop the monster from destroying everything and killing everyone, without ever really knowing why. Might as well call it Death: The JRPG at that point.

There are times I have to wonder if Seymour had the right idea. Which fucking disturbs me to no end. I mean of course, things do work out in the end but god damn. Can you imagine if the only way to fix this shit was to simply kill everyone? This game dealt with so many insane topics such as government corruption, religious fanaticism, genocide, racism/discrimination. The list goes on and on. Yes its somewhat corny but the corny humor is only skin deep. Underneath you find a lot of questionable things. Kinda like Spira itself when you think about it. It seems nice and cozy at a first glance, but further inspection reveals much darker shit at work.
Watching Wakkas perception of the world crash around him was a real treat too. "Praise be to Yevon, and Blitzball, but fuck the Al Bhed" He protects a half Al Bhed summoner He sucks at Blitzball Yevon makes him follow a strict set of guidelines and beliefs, in order to "counterract sin, and to repent", when Bevelle (home to the maesters of yevon) is a giant machina city where everyone uses machina.
I always thought it was kinda funny that death in Spira is usually nothing more than an inconvenience. Take [sp]Auron for example. He had died years ago, but he just comes back as if nothing's wrong.[/sp]

I mean even Lulu hints at [sp]the dead eventually turning into fiends, so technically you spend the game slaying Spira's dead or undead citizens. I guess Auron was the exception to that idea. I wonder why? Because of his promise to Jecht or his duty to High Summoner Braska? Oh well I'm speculating now.[/sp]
Had no idea the story of the game was that deep. It always put me off because of the ability sphere system. I really really hate it. Also the fact that my dvd is in platinum instead of the original PS2 dvd print thing :( which is a small irk to it

Shitty voice acting and the beginnings of Final Hallway aside, I actually really enjoyed FFX.

I think that's why Auron [sp]doesn't turn into a fiend[/sp]. That and Jecht [sp](as Sin)[/sp] possibly gave Auron the ability to [sp]live without actually living[/sp]. I'm not sure, but I think that's the explanation as to why [sp]Tidus and Auron are the only two that aren't erratic compared to other dead people[/sp]. Either that, or what you said.
Like I said, speculating. Still loved the shit out of this game. The only really big problem I have is unskippable cutscenes. God damn what I wouldn't give for the ability to skip that god awful laugh.
God damn what I wouldn't give for the ability to skip that god awful laugh.
Why would you skip one of the greatest moments in video game cutscene history? [t]http://i.imgur.com/0DFk4wN.jpg[/t]
At the end battle is that [sp]Jecht's "aeon" he turns into?[/sp] Coz it's fucking metal as shit
At the end battle is that [sp]Jecht's "aeon" he turns into?[/sp] Coz it's fucking metal as shit
It indeed is absolutely metal. SPOILERS IN THIS LINK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rr7R6uDFuuw&feature=youtu.be&t=945
And that [sp]The reason Sin even exists is because Yevon keeps possessing the final Aeon which then becomes Sin[/sp]
Just fucking blame it on Wakka (Wanka) it's all his fault that the game focuses on a fucking whale for a villian

[sp]After Yunalesca dealt Auron his fatal wounds and left him to die, he crawled back up over Mt. Gagazet to the edge of Bevelle, where he found Kimahri. He begged Kimahri to protect Yuna and bring her to Besaid, then died amidst the celebrations. Auron's unresolved grief and determination at being unable to fulfill his team's quest to kill Sin permanently allowed him to re-manifest as an Unsent, where Jecht shuttled him to Dream Zanarkand to watch over Tidus for 10 years, until Tidus was ready to be called to Spira.[/sp]
