It's funny, I remember hearing other folks hold this movie in higher regards to all the others in its trilogy, perhaps just due to the darker themes of the Metru Nui setting. Some good points to prop up Mask of Light in the character department. I probably could benefit from some more critical reviews of the films. The funny thing with growing up with them was that not only was someone like me head-deep into the toys and lore surrounding them, but that also gave me pre-exposure to the characters and universe that filled a lot of the holes that the movies had. This was particularly evident in the Metru Nui films, when the story content coming through the comics, books and internet basically slotted themselves in between the first and second act of both films as expansion pack/padding for the year's general story arcs. 2004 added to Legends of Metru Nui with the story behind finding the Great Disks and fighting off giant plant monsters that were part of Makuta's takeover plann, and 2005 added to Web of Shadows by... well, the main explanation was getting the resources for the transports back to Mata Nui as seen at the end of the film, but unlike 2004 it didn't really add much to the overall plot besides telling more stories with that year's cast.
He criticizes "Onua" for being different than he was in the first movie, even though he's talking about Whenua, who becomes a Turaga on Mata Nui, not Toa Onua. fucking casual get out

I was saying that they portray the Earth toa in the same way, with same type of gruff brutish voice. I know they're not the same characters.
